iPad 2, iPhone eating the iPod Touch popularity?

One of the new features of the iPad 2 is its ability to do video chat courtesy of the cameras — reviewed by some as “not-so-quality” cameras, almost identical to the iPod Touch 4G’s — but still good enough to FaceTime and to PhotoBooth.
iPad 2, using the “same camera quality” of the iPod Touch, is one of the reasons why some tech experts believe that the success of the iPad 2 (and the iPhone) will affect the sales of the iPod Touch, dubbed by some as the mini iPad due to identical features, only smaller. Surprisingly, 2011 is the 10th year of the iPod in the market, but for Apple, “2011 is the year of the iPad 2.”
The cheapest iPod Touch 4G sports a tag price of $229, which is $270 less-expensive than the cheapest iPad 2 model, the 16GB WiFi only. Apparently, gadgets customers today prefer the larger screen size of the iPad, due to the popularity of websites and internet activities like video streaming, and reading news. Plus, all iPod Touch features like iTunes songs and digital music filing are also supported by the new iPad.
So the question now is, can the iPod Touch survive the popularity of the iPad 2? To get a quick answer, ask Apple’s competitors, like Samsung. The Korean-based company is scheduled to sell two new devices, the Samsung Galaxy Player 4, and Galaxy Player 5 — two Android-powered devices that will work like the iPod Touch — listening to music, video chat, playing games, and no carrier contract. If the iPod Touch is losing popularity, then what’s with the new competitor?
iPod Touch’s portability, and its less expensive asking prices will still attract buyers, but that doesn’t mean that it will stay forever. Yup, the iPod Touch will die soon, but iPad 2 and the iPhone are not the only devices to blame, we can include the Android operating system and its manufacturing partners.

I just looked at them today in the Apple store. I didn't buy it or stuff but I have the original Ipad but the only difference it the new clean sleek design and the cameras. Didn't know it had a camera so didn't check out the camera. Will check it out next time for sure.

The iPod will always be popular with young people. Most kids are not going to want to walk around wiht a 10inch thing just to listen to music.

The iPod sales will be dropping because of the increase in Smart Phones such as Android and Windows Phone 7 that have built in functions to listen to music. People are moving to Smart Phones.

Smart phones are generally cheaper than an iPod and include a phone, apps, music, browser, and more.

Galaxy S 4G from T-Mobile, it is Priced at $199.99
A Droid X from Verizon, $149
Those are two year contracts, but most people buy a phone with a new contract.
and the Cheapest iPod is $229.
