Is cable becoming too fucked up?

Idk how many of you saw last night's EP of The Walking Dead, but if you did I'm sure you can agree that was probably the most fucked up thing ever seen on cable.

So my question to you is do you honestly believe cable is becoming too twisted in the things they allow?

One little girl about 10 yrs of age, murdered her sister (I think it was sister), then was put down by an adult, since she was losing her mind, and clearly detrimental to the survival of the group

The media influences people.

The FCC knows this and yet allows things to become more and more corrupt.

Over the years FCC has become a thousand times, if not more, more lenient in what they allow on TV.

It's just the general curve with society as a whole. Everything is more lenient. From religion(morals), how people dress, act, and now what they see. I think it's more of coming to terms with how people really are. On the other note, it could be about money. They more fucked up, the more viewers, the more money. It usually all comes down to money. Sorry if I come off as really ignorant.

Absolutely not. This is cable television, it's not meant to be as regulated as the shit you're going to watch on regular tv channels. It's given a rating for a reason, and of you can't handle it you shouldn't be watching it in the first place. I think it's great. Freedom of expression being expanded is always a great thing in my book.

The limits keep getting pushed, look back at the way it was years ago as far as the ratings went, now look at it.

I don't think so I feel like it to the point where they don't care what they put on the air. If they get hate it doesnt matter to them. I think there should be limits but the show is a gory show and I think it is ok

Obviously. However, in the case of The Walking Dead, that show shouldn't have nay censorship, considering it's an adult program. In this thread you insinuated that whatever happened in the episode was too harsh to be shown on television, but I disagree. There is a disclaimer at the beginning of every episode and that show is not intended to be viewed by people under an appropriate age.

It was TV-14 at first, I know that for a fact, but somewhere down the lines it changed, or maybe it changes per episode? Not sure if they can even do that though.
