Is college/university diploma still important?

With so many success story such of Bill Gates and of those listed in Millionaires' list, is college /university losing its importance as a tool for success?

Of course. Diploma is very important. Although some people without it had been successful, i still think that had they finished a degree, they could have been more successful. Nothing beats a formal education. In reality the fact is, education alone is not enough for success, its a combination of efforts, talent, dedication, passion and a lot more to mention. If we all have that then include the diploma then that would be perfect.

yes.. of course it is. education is really importantt. id rather have my degree then have a job right now that pays $2000 a week.

They say that it is but so many people around here get jobs by who you know in the company and not your knowledge.

I think a college degree is very important these days. There's so much competition for jobs so it's best to have as much qualifications as possible. Yes there are people like Bill Gates, but not that many. That's why people like him are so rich, because it's rare. In order to get a good job I think its necessary to have some kind of college paper.
