Do you think everything is already determined ?
Or do you think we can choose what we become ??

Everybody wants to be rich and succesful but if it is already determined you can't do anything about it.

Personally I think it is determined for some parts.
Everybody has his limits but you can choose what you do inside those limits.

What do you think ?

I think there is no predetermination, because the theory itself suggests there was something to predetermine everything's destiny and that the predetermination is our plan. However, that only gives arise to the question of what created the predeterminer. The cycle of questioning is endless, there's no real answer, just cop out conclusions.

There are also some creatures that have live some pretty pointless and horrific lives. Such as a baby who is brutally murdered and raped. The thought to think it was their destiny, their fate, all part of the predeterminer's grand plan is sick.

Your theory is a cop out.

What? That response makes no sense. It's a cop out, fallacious, a logical evasion. It reneges logic, in other words, it does not fulfill logic's criteria.

Yes i know but it might not be logical but it's just my opinion so get over it.

I understand it's your opinion, howbeit, there's no reason to keep restating your counter-response which makes little sense. I simply wanted to manifest you're making a logical fallacy, meaning there's a malignant error in your logic and you can't justify it logically, hence you're more than likely wrong. When did I state I cared for your opinion? You shouldn't presuppose such things.

You make your own destiny.

However, history does repeat itself, and as such you are more likely to travel down a certain path, than you are the others.

Pathfinding is a good skill to have.

If I had not changed my path, I shudder to think of who I would be and where.

I feel that we choose on who we become, if we want something, we tend to strive for it.
Also, peoples opinions change throughout their lives. If something was predetermined, surely it wouldn't be so complicated.
It's all on what that person decides on what they would like to do.

I don't think everything is predetermined. But the exact opposite.
Just as Cannibal said, if everything we predetermined, you would think everyone would have some point in living.

Hmm...I don't really believe in predetermination or the ability to make choices. I don't really believe any of us are "truly alive" at the moment.

Let me explain:
In the blink of an eye, you will be dead, plain and simple. You will not have the ability to make choices within the next few seconds you are alive. Life is too short for bad decisions. Everyone eventually dies, so the fates of us all is death. If all humans die, then we're all pretty much set on the same path, but with different bumps along the road. If we'll be dead in the next few moments, did we really ever have a choice with anything? If we had a choice, wouldn't most of us choose life? If someone predetermined life's path, why would death be the outcome? What even is death?

I believe life is what you make it. There is no predetermination. But when it's all said and done, someone who has lived a successful life might say "this was my destiny". And someone who has failed and never let that be their motivation might say "I could of been something great".

I mean some people have the potential to become something very special but never act upon it. Adversity hits and it gets the best of them. They become another statistic. Others rise above and persevere and strives to be the best version of themselves possible. Strive for greatness.

I'm confused, didn't you make this as a discussion? Cann!bal is just presenting his argument...

That's neat, unique, and everything. However, what's there to substantiate your belief? It's unwise to purely believe it because you think it sounds nice. It's wishful thinking. I find it much more fruitful for us all to grasp reality as it really is rather than to persist in delusion.

I hate to say it but I don't think everything is determined, there is no higher being, when we die we are rotting in the ground nothing more.

Their are still so many unanswered questions we aren't even close to finding a clue so I believe not everything is determined
