There has to be some God. I mean, everything didn't create itself someone had to do it.

The God hypothesis doesn't solve anything, it just arises another question, which is where did God come from? If we decide that God always existed, we can save a step and conclude that the universe has always existed. If we decide knowing whether God is real is an unanswerable question, we can save a step and conclude that the origin of the universe is an unanswerable question.

Once you comprehend quantum physics, something from 'nothing' is completely rational and possible.

I don't see how the world could have been created without a god and I so believe in him but some things that the bible says do not make 100% sense

Ignorance is laziness. Because you can't fathom or understand something, that does NOT empower you to throw some irrational label on it. Nothing in the bible makes sense. And Cannibal just explained to you guys that the idea of god can be easily dismissed through simple logic.

Now, as for my belief. Obviously, no god that man has ever worshiped has existed. However, I do contest the possibility that some higher power or deity does exist. Not out of superstition or fear, but for other reasons that I dont want to go into detail on.

As of now, many things can be explained, but there are still many things that cannot be explained. That does not warrant a god to come fill in the blank as a temporary (or permanent) answer. We as homo sapiens simply aren't there yet, and that is all.

The closest definition of your "God" would be the Universe itself. The Universe created us all and can wipe us out just as easy.

This is a topic disputed daily.
My belief is that, there is no answer. It's just based off ones belief to believe in God or not. I believe in God therefore I think, God, is real.

My question is what makes him fake? Or what makes him real? There is no way to know or prove one way or another. This is a question between you and the grave.

Cannibal's post pretty much sums it up in my opinion. It really just has to do with what you believe, I choose to believe there is a god. I simply want to believe there really is some higher reason for my life and things that happen. If not, I'd feel that there's no point to what I'm doing, and that I am living without purpose. This was somewhat off topic, but I wanted to give my stance on it. To answer the question though, well, there is no answer as of now.

If god was real then why would he create you? In other words when it floods is that him taking a huge piss or crying? When its hot is that him getting mad or fucking chicks? If god was real why would he let everyone suffer why not just kill us all and get the world over with? i mean we cant live forever.

@Manson I can't tell it you're asking serious questions or just trying to say overused jokes, either way please stop.

As for this thread, Cannibal hit the spot. It's basically your opinion and it's completely up to you.

I cannot say I have read the bible front to back. Part of my wants to but then again, it seems like a lot of effort to reassure my disbelief when im pretty well set in my beliefs as it is. I have read enough to know that "the word of god" is far from what it is portrayed to be. Forcing myself to read it all would only frustrate me further.

And yes, I said none of it makes sense. Dont take those words literally. I dont think I have to explain that there is a lot of fucking bullshit in the bible, of course there are exceptions to everything.

What point are you trying to make? Or are you just trying to find a loophole for the sake of an arguement?

There's a bunch of debate over this but nobody is 100% certain unless you were one of the 12 disciples that were there with him.

I went to a Catholic primary school, and I still consider myself atheist.

If you're going to state such an opinion I would like to see some evidence to support it.
