Is suicide really wrong?

Suicide. A topic discussed throughout the world we live in. Some people call those who commit suicide weak. They call them cowards. But why? I don't truly get it, and this is a topic that strikes me dearly so I want nothing but mature and appropriate responses on this thread.

How is it being weak, when that person who finally decided to end their life has been going through so much, much more than anyone would imagine? How is it being weak when they can't take anymore physical or emotional pain that strikes within them? How is it being a coward when they wake up everyday in agony, living and continuing a life that they hate? How is this wrong? Why is it wrong?

It's wrong to want to end your life because of how much you suffer? Those who do it find it as the way out from all the suffering they go through. Those who do it, do it because they feel its the one and true answer.

Really put yourself in someone else's position who truly suffers daily. Yes, other people have it worse, that is always being said; but what about those who have it bad, who struggle, who have fought and fought, who have tried to keep holding on but after so long, its just too much.

Is it wrong? To end your life because you want to end the struggle you go through? When everyday you just get worse and worse. When everyday, no one believes the pain you are in. When everyday, no one truly understands what you go through. Is suicide really wrong?

I really would like some mature responses on here, please. No trolling. Just.. honest replies about this subject. Please.

If you kill yourself, that's it. You don't get a second chance. Things will get better eventually. Once you hit rock bottom, things can only get better. It may be a struggle, but struggling is part of life. Chances are other people have been in a similar situation you may be in.

Suicide is literally the one right I think every being should possess. None of us consciously chose to be here, and so if you want to consciously choose that you dont want to be here, you should be able to do it. Its literally illegal to commit suicide and/or attempt to. You said yourself, people are looked upon as selfish and cowardly for even contemplating it. The people who recycle those empty, useless phrases are the ones who have never been dealt the pain that some of us have. You see..it was selfish for all of our parents to have sex (99% of us were the product of pleasure) and conceive us. We had no choice. I think euthanesia should be legal everywhere. There can be guidelines, procedures, but it should be convenient if somebody truly wants to go in a peaceful way. I've thought about this subject a lot.

Sometimes people have just too much at their plate that they simply can not handle. A lot of times it is not their fault, it's the way they grew up or were raised. However, it is WEAK for the simple reason that it is taking the easy way out.

Not only that, but if you have people that love you and care for you, and you go out that way? Even if that's not the case, and life seems to be hard, I'm sure there are people that have it much worse.

If you can find something, just anything to live for, and use that to build a better life, it can go a long way. Why take the easy way out? I understand life is hard, and things don't always go our way, but when it's done a certain way, life is simply amazing.

It's being weak because it takes pain to truly appreciate joy. I speak from experience. There was a time in my life when nothing made sense. I was in darkness. I felt as there was no hope. It takes that pain and sadness to find yourself and understand where you want to be. Ever heard the quote "Pain is weakness leaving the body" well, it's true. You have to believe it. You can only get stronger.

If you've made it through all this pain and hardships and weathered the storm, I believe you are a warrior. You are magnificent. An inspiration. Something that can be turned into a book and change a lot of people's lives for the better. Now what impact do you leave on the universe by committing suicide? Just another negative vibe. People feeling sorry and feeling down about it for a while. Why not live and tell the story? Just the way I feel about this topic...

To leave friends and loved ones behind in the world has to be extremely difficult. Other than that, the act of committing suicide is extremely frightening and takes balls beyond description.

I don't think it is right. The person has no idea how many other people they are affecting by taking themselves out. Rather be selfless than selfish. Just my view. No one quote me and argue. I simply don't care about your opinions and mine won't change.

I do agree with some of that. I have this one friend who at times feels very sad. She told me once that the only reason she hasn't committed suicide was because she didn't have the balls to do it.

I just think it's weak in a sense that you're leaving so much behind because you don't have the strength to continue fighting instead of giving in...

I agree with your final statement to an extent.

Some people simply do not have the physical or mental capacity to continue "taking shit" from the world around them. As stated by a Suicidology webpage, "Most suicidal people desperately want to live; they are just unable to see alternatives to their problems." Sometimes giving in may not seem like the best solution, but it may be the only solution.

I view it as this. If you're ready to die. Then who are people to stop you. I think you should just do what's best for you.

Suicidal tendencies are not selfish nor cowardly. If a mere human has been driven to to the point where they actually feel the need to end their life, that is not cowardly. There is a person, just like you, that ends their life every 15 minutes in the USA. It is wrong to push somebody to that point, those who call it selfish have never dealt and gone through sufferance.

I don't believe that suicide is wrong, I just have many different thoughts about it and how terrible things must be to do such a thing.
One thing I have an issue with is the whole conception of is "If you commit suicide, you won't go to heaven" Honestly, it just infuriates me.. My grandfather committed suicide and the church refused to bury his body and suggested it was cremated, I'm not religious and I'd never bash any religion but just hearing things like that truly annoy me.

I'm sure people who are considering suicide have the idea of "Oh, I'll show them and see how they react" Without really realizing that they won't be able to see, suicide effects everyone to be honest, even the people you think wouldn't care at all. People who call suicide selfish truly annoy me as well, I don't think it is at all, sure there are some reasons for suicide that could've been fixed or avoided so easily, but the end result is still the same and that's terrible.

I've lost a lot of people in my life from suicide which is why I care about it so much, I wish they'd have known how many people cared, one of my friends did it in the school parking lot which tore the whole school down, he was a member of the baseball team so everyone just was crushed completely and I'm sure that he had the thought process that nobody would care.
I don't think it's wrong to end your life, but if some people would just hold on they could see things get better, I understand from personal experience when you're having a shit week or month it feels like it's never going to end, but if some people could just live another day they could try and see some improvement in their life.

It depends why you want to do it. If you are bullied to a point where you can't take it anymore, Then no it is not selfish. But if you are going to kill yourself over some stupid shit, Such as your girlfriend you have had for 3 days breaks up with you and you kill yourself then that is selfish. Also no matter what, You leave a huge burden on your family, And that can be considered selfish. So I mean I guess it could be considered selfish no matter what. Idk man that's just my opinion.

Suicide, would be wrong if there are people who still cares for you. Live life. That's what we are here for.
