Okay, so me and my dad were talking, and this came up.
God did not write the bible himself, he had men write it. Free will would allow them to do anything they wish. Therefor, they literally could of wrote down anything they wanted to, no matter what God told them to write down.
And then this. The bible has been translated so much, that who knows that we translated correctly? Supposedly in the real bible men, first one, it contained no spacing. All the words were together. And the men that mass produced the bible (because there were no copying machines) were mostly illiterate. Who says they even wrote it correctly?
I don't know, just some thoughts.

If you believe in this kind of stuff the bible is man made from "God" telling them what to write so it wouldn't be translated wrong. Even if they were illiterate "god" was guiding them through it; so it wouldn't have any mistakes.

I am saying, the people who got the bible, rewrote it for mass production.

very unlikely that occurred. during the dark ages barely anyone could write, so monks had a lot of power so to speak. the only people who would be able to translate the bible at the time of the printing press were educated scholars and monks, so it was very accurate. also I can't see how any details could be lost in translation and be able to countermand the real meaning.

The bible was created for a belief, it's like when you tell children about Santa Claus, when you get older you know it ain't true. There is NO proof and never will be. It's a book wrote by MAN to separate the world out. Scientists prove things all the time, that's who's side I'm backing.

Considering that most people would believe anything you told them at the time. They would be afraid to go ain't God. Plus I'm sure not just everyone could edit the bible. I don't see that possible.

The bible was written by man, and god was created by man. For several reasons, the most obvious two being: Control and giving people peace of mind; it wa their way of explaining "the unknown."

Regardless of how likely it is that mistakes or changes were made when translation occurred, the bible is one big book full of hatred, violence, killing, rape, incest, and
illogical and impossible claims, and contradictions.Anyone who has read it and is even the least bit intelligent knows this.

God wrote the Bible through men.
I guess that explains how there could be no errors.
Also, the Bible has been translated and changed dozens of times over the years that we are only getting part of it, I believe.

Im not going to get that much into this but the bible is real and if you are an atheist you are in trouble (mentally, not by any law)

You aren't getting off that easy. You must explain your claims; this is the Philosophy and Debate section. The bible is real, huh? Prove it. "Eve was made from Adams rib, a talking snake told her not to eat an apple, the earth is 6000 years old, and god flooded the earth and killed all of his children (except for Noah and a few others who built a boat big enough to fit 2 of every species in existence)

This is what you are claiming is real. Prove it. If you can't, or don't reply then you're in "big trouble."

To be skeptical, logical and rational is far from being insecure. The impossible claims being made in the bible warrent insane amounts of proof. As far as I know, this proof does not exist. But you claim that these stories are real, so you must have the proof. @Sherman

morals. You're dead wrong, if you had actully read the bible cover to cover you would know that it is full of violent, hateful scripture and impossible claims. That's actually how many people become atheists. You're a fucking waste of life, and just one more unintelligent religious I've had tge displeasure of "debating" with.


@Sherman, you know, I would respect you more if you would just admit you have no proof and apologized for making such massive claims withhout it.
