Is the US going down hill? In my own opinion, Yes, Like all other great nations, civilizations (or whatever you may call them) such as, Rome, Incans, Mayans, and other civilizations, I can't think of. They all have risen and fallen. Is the US about to reach her "expiration" date?

Well i think so and heres my support on this "theory".

1. Education
I think this is probably the number 1 reason why the US is failing all together. Is with lack of education comes arrogance. Also another thing is other places in the the world like Asia and Europe. Peope here in the US are just now thinking "Ah crap are kids are dumb in a high tech. world and the only way to get somewhere is to be smart". But the dumber thing is the goverment doesn't put enough money into the school system to help pay for the things the schools need to function. Like lunchrooms, computer rooms, and other important resources a kid needs to succeed aren't there for them to use! One big thing is in my area there is only about 5-6 nurses for the whole school district :S only 3 schools have a fulltime nurse, the others just work off and on at different schools. (i live in a very rural community with about 4-5 schools all together)

2.Past jobs
What i'm seeing here in Indiana is that many of the car manufacturing companies (Toyota, Ford, Honda, Etc) are all being outsourced to India or China and other 3rd world countries. Now anymore you need to have a college degree to get anywhere and back when my mom was a kid 15-16 years ago she graduated from highschool and went straight to a job at ford for 15-16 bucks a hour! Now that thatis gone everyone in my communitie is sitting in their Hind ends and saying "Ahh man how do i get a job now".

Thats my thought on how the US is doing...What's yours?

1. Kids in United States may not seem that smart they really are.. They are not into learning a lot but United States will never go down down.. Trust me.. They aren't going anywhere trust me we will still aren't going down anytime soon..

2. United States has always had problems with with creating items in US but thats part of the economy. Buying things from other countries is just part of their economy and ours. But as of right now we are having economy problems but we will come out soon. Obama has done quiet a bit of things to help us but also screw things up. Obama has messed up all the things we had right so we had to rebuild them. He's making it for people who dont have a job will get one very soon. Soon as we get a new president we will be coming back strong.

I think we are to far in the future with globalization and all that for us to "fall" as you say it. I feel as though the US has just a bump in the road just like the 30s, 60s and 80s. It happens. The economy fluctuates and we always bounce back. So just sit back and try to make some money to combover until we bounce back.

This is still on the edge. I can't say if it's a speed bump or not just yet but it's surely a dark time for the USA. Many of Americans don't realize we have power because of the dollar. That is why we have everything for as cheap as we have it including gasoline believe it or not.

The biggest problem with having so much power with the dollar and being in so much debt to China is that we must mass produce our money to stimulate the economy. The value of the dollar is continuing to drop and the Euro is rising. Take a look HERE as of 5/13/11 1 Euro is equivalent to 1.41 Euro. Of course this vary by going up and down, the point is it's going to continue to climb slowly. With this said imagine if gasoline was being sold by the euro and not the dollar. If gasoline was being sold for 1 euro a barrel we would be paying $1.50 for a barrel of gasoline, and because America isn't self sufficient the price of everything can increase. Now I'm not sure where I heard this so don't quote me on it unless you know the source and can disprove or confirm it but it's been said that China and Russia are no longer trading and buying from each other using the dollar. They are instead using their own currency which means they're basically trying to eliminate it from their economy. This isn't good for America.

The debt we're in is simply too great, you can't just keep printing money to get out of debt. If that's how it worked we wouldn't be in this situation.. America may not be at an end where we will fall and become a poor third world country but obviously the risk always exists. Very doubtful, lifestyles here may change for most as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The middle class is slowly disappearing which is scary. Fortunately we seem to be bouncing back, that's why I said we're on the edge but not yet jumping off. We'll just have to wait and see what happens, or at least where we're headed before we start assuming we're jumping off the edge.
This is one of the biggest bumps that America may face if we continue to go downhill. We should have been bouncing back harder than we are, who cares that we have Osama. We're still in debt, we still have homeless vets, our children are still dying, we spent millions to catch one man and kill him. Guess what is going to change.. Nothing. We may have set an example that we will do everything we can to catch a terrorist but he kills thousands, we spent millions, we started a war and we're losing soldiers. Even with his death Osama Bin Laden was successful, even more so than he may have thought.

Our Education does not work well, as the kids in the united states are not disciplined as well as other countries, it seems. Most of the time, they are not taught to try and value their education so they don't try to learn.

I personally think the United States school system should be like Germany's.
