Is there a way to test if a Xbl code is legit?

The only method I know if seeing if a code is legitimate is to click on 'Redeem Code' on Xbox Live or at Xbox.com and see if it says what the code is for.

If it's says it's invalid then you'll know whether or not it's a real code.

But then wouldn't the code get used if it was legt?

No, it wouldnt redeem right away it will ask if your sure you want to, then simply click cancel

No, not straight away. Another opinion should pop up saying "This code is for *item here*, would you like to redeem this code?". You can either click 'Redeem' or 'Cancel'. Hope I helped man!

They redeem right away on xbox.com

On the console they dont, so test it there.
