Is There Any Logic In Using Fire Works During Some Festivals?

In India the festival of fire is celebrated as 'Diwali' which is celebrated some where in the month of November! This festival is celebrated throughout the country for two to three days! During this time fire works are used by using many chemical materials! I think there must have been some logic behind using such fireworks during this festival by our ancestors. What ever may be the reason of celebration, but the fact is during this time there are many pests and insects in the country as this is the time when crops have been cut and there are many harmful insects including mosquitoes every where in the country! So immediately after the Diwali we can see that these insects and mosquitoes get vanished miraculously! This must have been a sort of mass eradication of the mosquitoes from entire country! What do you feel about it? Kindly response!

that sounds logical for me.
Why?
because we only celebrated the festival once in a year.
But not too much fireworks because it's also a wasted of money to burn those fireworks.
Maybe just enough to celebrate it with colors and lights.

There may not be any logic but according to history and tradition King Ram returned from Exile on that day and in the happy occasion of it the whole kingdom was lightened. And our modern generation added a lil more taste by burning fireworks in it.
