Is this HF?

I come from Hackforums (like 80% of other users I guess), and well. It's just too similar. God knows how many little forums around HF are look alike, but this is starting to be big, and I think it shouldn't be so similar.
So many plugins from Labrocca are running on this forum, basically everything is the same apart from the main discussion subject.

I guess you have heard this many times, but I think it's time you do something about it.

I know Hackforums is a successful forum and members from it want to take it as an example, but I don't like leaving a forum, and joining another one just about the same... The only thing that would possibly make me want me to register and be active on this forum is that Runescape discussions aren't allowed on HF. Other than that, no way I would leave HF for something so similar.

Try to be creative.

THis is a gaming forum based on RUNESCAPE sunny, It is in no way like HF. The plug ins are for MyBB. If you had a forum you would use what you have. The theme is completely different and there are no trolls. You clearly have no sense in sight or anything.

Well if labroccaa's plugins have been installed is because they are good and not because @[The Elite] is trying to copy HF. This is a RS discussion forum and is totally different from HF. The theme HF used I think is the same as this one but HF was green right? It doesn't mean they are the same thing... And also HF was a great forum and thanks for comparing RG with it

How shall I begin with this... Well, for one, this theme is nothing close to Hackforums theme, I'm not sure where you got that. 80% of members from here are from Google, traffic stats agree with me. Many of Labrocca's plugins are installed, only 6 of his have been installed.

Well I didn't mean to piss you guys off. But you can disagree, won't take away the fact that when I come on here I feel I'm on HF. And theme, theme doesn't matter. I know it's the only thing you did yourself here, but I wasn't talking about theme at all.

I was talking about the way the forum is handled, the benefits given to upgraded members, the two types of upgraded accounts available, the awards, the way you started with a Runescape forum but turning it into a "whateveryouwannapost" forum like HF is a bit now.

And Labrocca can contact you "praising" your "work" but still doesn't change my opinion. If you can't take it, don't have a feedback forum?

We actually began as a gaming forum, but now we're a RuneScape forum. You must not go on many forums, do you? Do you not see general discussion on forums.

Yeah, jealousy. This is what you say (and most of all what you think deeply inside) every time someone thinks that what you do isn't that good.

I think your major problem is that you are too young, and meeting this success (yes, it is success, not BIG success, but still something you succeeded at) didn't do you good. I think you are a bit pretentious in the first place, but it certainly made it worse.

You can think I am jealous, that what you do is so awesome (what you do is install plugins someone made for you, on a software someone made for you and editing a CSS sheet someone wrote for you, remember this) but you will never make me even a little bit jealous of anything close to what you are or do because I don't like succeeding through other people's work.

We could, destroy the entire forum, start from scratch, and NOT use MyBB to make HF and RuneGear just that little bit more different.

You've got a big attitude problem TE has paid for people to build certain features of the site that he doesnt have time to build or has the apptitude to build. Its like every single company in the world they sub contract work.

You really are just not helping and you haven't experienced the forum at all so I do not know how you can judge.

Also regarding TE's cockyness. He has every right to be cocky he has built a succesfull forum and he is being quite happy with the success that he has.

Honestly I don't think he's run this forum the way it is because of his skills in coding, I think it's more to do with the dedication, the commitment and the self satisfaction he gets when it's grown like it has.

I didn't realize the point of owning a website was to code every single aspect of it yourself. Bill Gates didn't make every aspect of windows but would you still call him unsuccessful?

I'm sorry, but 80% of the members here are not from Google. Don't lie about stats. 80% are from HF because of that big redirect Omni did for you, and the announcement telling every runescape fan on HF (ALOT) to come to this site.

First off, someone needs to say this...

Runegear IS NOT Hackforums. Runegear will never be hackforums either. You may see some familiarity to Hackforums in places, which is perfectly okay. People learn from other people's projects, and tend to re-use ideas (in an original form) on their site. As long as they aren't outright copying, it's fine.

Now, for any plugins we use that Hackforums uses, guess what. Labrocca is a plugin maker, and a good one at that. There are hundreds of forums using the same plugins as us, and for good reason. If you think every site that does something a little similar to another is copying them, then you sir need to mature.

By that standard, every website would be copying the first website for using a webhost, or owning a domain. No, that's just silly. In regards to traffic, no one but people with access to the stats can say where our traffic is really coming from. Frankly, I'm going to believe TE. While I think the HF ban of Runescape gave us a massive start on traffic, it isn't what we're living off of now. Eventually Google will start loving us, and that's when we get some really good traffic.

I have actually seen RG with decent ranks on Google, which enforces my belief that TE is telling the truth. Finally, TE is not cocky. He's proud of his success, and shows it. If he were cocky he'd be looking at every other Runescape forum, and loling at them. And pretending he is the master at this, and knows everything, and such. So please don't come hating on us for being a good forum. It just makes you look immature.

I don't see how you can call me a liar, when you've never had any access to our traffic statistics? You have no way of saying where our members our forum. Sadly, the HF redirect only got me 400 unique hits. The major traffic boost came from the announcement where he linked to us. We only got a total of 800 members from HF, which is 14% of our memberbase. I know many think it did boost our traffic, but when we were hitting 30k unique hits, HF was only 40% of the traffic, and 50% of it was bounces. Sad, I know?

You being such an idiot comparing us to HF is just boosting @[The Elite]'s ego, which it should. It's an honour to compare us to HF.

Incase you're un-aware. MyBBCentral is where Jesse releases his plug-ins, anyone who pays the subscription can access the plug-ins, like myself and @[The Elite] - Does that mean if I go set-up a site called www.nothackforums.net and install Awards, tabbed forums, custom contact.php etc. then I'm a copy of Hackforums? No. It means I took advantage and used things I paid for...

Learn some things before you come and run your mouth.
