On sythe.org they have something similar to the award system, and i'm not sure if it's possible with this type of forum i'm not sure if this is just me but it makes sythe look much better.
If you don't know what i'm talking about, here is some pictures.

So is this sorta thing possible to do on this forum ?

If you're talking about an item/shop system, then yes it is possible.
We had one during the early stages of the forum.

He did a lot of work to get it right, but he still ended up removing it.

I'm talking about how they have little "awards" or whatever you would call them under their names. And whether The Elite can add it here.

He didn't say, but it could be because he thought it wasn't worth the risk of spam.
The items were large and took up a lot of space, you bought them with points earned by posting, and it wasn't really put to too much use.
No one can really know for sure. (Except for The Elite, of course.)

It was quite annoying when I had to manage it, and made the forums look unprofessional. I'm also looking into other ways to reward my members from posting, most likely from contests. I'm aiming to keep the postbit clean.

Sythe's isn't an award system, it's a userbar system. TheAdminZone and many other forums have userbars which work like that.

Depending on what rank you are on the forum, you have a image next to your name. I should think that, is as close as it's going to get to sythe.
Besides the layout of sythe is ugly and too busy.

Yes its possible, the Elite title you have is mearly an image, all they would have to do is change the image link's to new picture's or even just add another image, so there's two or possibly more
