ISIS Captures Girl From My Town

A girl by the name of Kayla Mueller was captured by ISIS and maybe killed. The strange part is that I knew her because she lived in my small town. I didn't know her well enough to be a friend or what not but I talked to her once and she was an amazing girl and now this shit happens. It is not confirmed whether she is dead at this time. What is confirmed is that she really was captured by ISIS and they were asking the U.S. Government for large sums of money for her freedom. When the U.S. refused to comply, they then claimed that she was killed by an airstrike while she was in an ISIS occupied building.

I live in the state of Arizona as well, so the whole plight of Kayla Mueller affected me as well. As you now it has now been confirmed that she is indeed dead. I felt bad for her family and I know they wanted someone to blame, but they couldn't blame the government of the United States, as they were in interviews. I know they are angry and rightfully so, but no one told Kayla to go over to a country in such up heaval. She made that decision on her own, and I admire her for having the courage to do this, I don't think I could in all honestly.

I know that some have a difficult time with the fact that the United States Government will negotiate to have American Soldiers released but they won't intervene to help civilains. Well there is a difference, with Soldiers they are assigned by the governent to go to these countries to defend their country. With civilians they go there at their own risk. Kayla knew the risk going off to do the missionary work, she was a true inspiration to many to place your life above others but it was her choice.

heard about this. a girl from my school blew her brains out with a shotgun a couple years back. I imagine that was a messy thing to come home to for her parents.

Damn, that's scary. I'm glad more people are starting to retaliate against them though.

I doubt you knew her she was a journalist who traveled to places, she wasn't just 'captured' she was Documenting the area ISS was in and so they captured her but they let her boyfriend go since they couldnt confirm if they were a couple. She knew the risks but I do think its stupid that ISIS has to be a little bitch and capture innocent people for exchange of money or a freedom of another member.

It's sad they do this. I feel sorry for her family and friends.
