I think now a days, we seldom see "sex" term when asked about one's gender. It is now always "GENDER" as young people (also not so young) make fun of it, delivering wrong information. But the problem now is since more and more homosexual groups are asking equal rights and non discrimination they want additional choice preference. No more two preference ;Man or female but with homosexual as an addition which I think is simply a form of being lofty and unreal.

Aw, I think I will laugh too if I read that red mark. Anyway, I even didn't know before what's the right word to put. It's just I asked one of my professor in communication skills that what is the right term to put in our CV. It's even so nice of him that he said it's more proper if we put Gender instead of Sex. Yeah, all of us learned from our mistakes and it's good because we can correct what we've been done. ^^

I agree. It's good that we have our professors that time whom we can asked about things about CV. I'm glad that they even teach about what is the proper words in using in our CV. Now, I'm still using those information that I get from there. It's pretty good that my CV looks professional now.

Yes mate it's just the same but it's more proper to use gender in your CV. It depends on how we use it. Some people preferred to use SEX some but it's more proper to use GENDER. ^^

Both are the same and have the same meaning. But in formal papers like resume, thesis and letters, it is not normal to use sex, you should use gender.

sex is referred to your biological being. it is determined through your hormones. while gender refers to as your sociological acceptance about yourself. Sex only has two options: Male and Female. While for Gender, there are several of them like boy, girl, bisexual, homosexual, lesbian, gay, etc.

LOLS! even if i were in on your position,i will laugh out loud too!
well your professor is correct, it is more appropriate to use gender than sex. especially if we will use that word in our resume, it will show professionalism.
