Karma - Does it Exist?

Many people I know, and also interact with always speak of Karma.

The idea of Karma (good and bad) is that if you do something positive, it could be helping one in need, somewhere down the lines of your life, someone else will do something good for you. The same goes for bad Karma, but completely the opposite.

I don't really believe in it, due to the fact that both a good thing or a bad thing would happen to you anyway in your life, despite what you do.

What do you think about Karma?

It's basically like saying if you do good things you get rewarded or something. I believe in it but I don't sometimes

Pretty much, yeah, I could see in some cases where it's believable, but not a majority of them.

Referring to Karma in some sort of spiritual way: I don't believe that acts of generosity or indecency play a role in or affect future events in your life. Therefore, I do not believe in "Karma."

Yet, I do believe that you are treated the way you treat others. So, technically Karma exists. It just doesn't exist (in my eyes) on a.. let's say "magical".. level.

Yes I believe in Karma. That's why I love helping people. I remember when I heard a story of when a homeless guy saw a women drop her wedding ring and he picked it up and kept it. The next time he saw the woman, he gave her back her wedding ring, and she was so happy he did that that she gave him a shitload of money. If you do good things, good things will happen to you.

I love helping people as well, and I love the fact that my actions sometimes reflect on them and 'cause them to do things as well like the story you told, Hollywood. I just don't know if I can call that karma.

Good thing happen when the majority of people believe in something. If everybody believed in Karma it would more or less exist more.

I know plenty of great people who have terrible things happen to them while others whom are not so good have great things happen for them.

So no, karma isn't real. No more than deities. That's my beliefs anyway.

It doesn't matter if karma is true or not, if you are good just to get something in reward is not being good.

Ex: Whe a politician helps poor people just to get more votes is not really being good.

You can only be good when you do it just to see someone else glad, not to satisfy yourself.

That's exactly how I feel about it. You shouldn't need motivation to be a good person. It should come naturally to yourself.

Personally I don't believe in Karma. But I do believe in fate. I believe that when someone is born there future has already been decided. Almost as if they are a treasure map. They are the following the map in order to get to the X which is death/the end of there life. But on the way they have made decisions/or done something that has altered this path. But no matter what you will always find that X, which is death.

I don't really believe in the whole idea of karma. If you do something nice for someone or something, that doesn't necessarily guarantee that you will be rewarded in any way. It's always seemed like more of a 50/50 chance from my perspective.
