Well, the illegality doesn't stop anyone from consuming marijuana. Let me ask you a question OP. Why should marijuana be illegal?

It would be nice to have it legal (recreational use), but I can go both ways. And in California, people can get medical cards if they are having issues with chronic pain, cancer, etc. Also, what do you mean by "crime?" Crimes that are committed while under the influence of marijuana, or crimes that are committed trying to obtain/sell/etc marijuana?

Even though I don't smoke, weed would probably be better if it were legal, it would definitely stimulate the economy more, I mean just imagine how much weed would be bought nationwide? There are two excellent options to get the economy going again, legalize weed, or go into World War III. Personally, I like legalizing weed more.
I believe marijuana would be decent if it were legal, it would stimulate the economy by the insane taxes I can only imagine would be placed upon it. However, I don't believe this would stop "drug distribution" crime that much because of the ability to obtain the marijuana "tax-free." I'm sure it would lower the crime rate dramatically, but it wouldn't disappear, that's for sure.

Weed is weed, there is absolutly no reason for it to be illegal. it generates crimes that should not be crimes. every person that is jailed for pot has to be fed, and housed. that comes out of our wallets. weed will also produce millions of dollars from the taxs put on it thus fixing the huge gaping absence of money in our treasury. why keep it illegal?
I feel it should be legalized because people shouldn't have to be in prison for bein hooked on drugs. People on weed shouldn't be in the same place with serial killers and rapists, its just wrong to have a drug addict with nothing wrong accept drugs to someone who rapes and kills people.
