WTF, How can anyone play like that... I get confused when playing guitar hero

And guitar hero is approximately 500 times easier than real guitar.
I guess guitar just isn't your instrument. :(

I gen confuzed when I had to put music on paper onto a computer....

Why didn't they just put letters instead of floating ball things?

I'm assuming your talking about tab, which though easier to read then actual notation, is no where near as "affective"
You can't write rhythms with tab.

You can, sort of. You'd need to place a time signature on the tab though. Most you get off ultimate guitar or some site though do NOT have this.

But if you have the tempo, and a time signature, and lines in between the notes that are in 4 beats or however many there are, then you can sort of guess the rhythm that you are meant to play it in. Especially if you have an led light timer with adjustable bpm like I have on an effects board of mine.

Or you could just listen to the song with the tabs up.
If you are trying to sight read you are most likely going to fail.

I must fail at that, because I'll pull up a song on Youtube/Ultimate Guitar and try and figure out the tab, and my brain just goes kaplort.

So how do you learn songs? Do you read sheet music?

I prefer that over tab, but if it's a song I've heard constantly, I can pick up the rhythm fairly easily looking at tab.
I think the main issue I have is I'm used to looking at real tab, (ex: time signature, on staff paper, all that) rather then compared to the "crude" tabs on sites like UltimateGuitar.

Thats exactly what I do now lol. Or if I don't have my laptop readily near me when I play, and i'm listening to stereo with an inspiring song that I want to play. I'm motivated to just figure it out by ear.

Lots! of fun that way to me. And it helps you understand how the song was put together, some of the patterns, and you can try and figure out what scales were used and what key it was in, then you can pretty much know the range of notes to play as you go along if you have those things solved.

Everything to do with music is a big part of my life. :) I know tons of songs. I have a computer with 4TB of hard drive space completely devoted to my music library, and i've set up all my computers on the network to access the music from that computer. It's great !

It gives you something to do and you learn a lot more if you listen by ear, and try to figure everything out for yourself. How do you think tabs were made anyway? (lol well some of them, others maybe from books or magazines)

I used to know how to read notes, but that skill of mine has disappeared a while ago, and now I use tabs.
