Logitech G35
Ok so ive had my G35 for well over two years now and ive only just realised that I havent reviewed them yet, so here goes.
Why I got the G35s
I spotted the G35s in a magazine on a train to London, actually reading a review of them funnily enough. Anyway I loved the look of them so much I asked for them for Xmas that year.
In the box
In the box are the headphones, obviously, you'd be pritty pissed if they werent, instructions, software and 3 head coushions.
The cousions are differnet thicknesses so you can pick what your most comfortable with. They are labeled A, B & C. If I remember correctly, A is the thinnest, C is the thickest. I use A simply because that was on the headphones out of the box.
Features
Onto the feel of the headphones. The exterior or casing of the headphones are like a soft touch plastic. It feels and looks great, that is until you get your greasy fingers on them.
The size of the headphones can be adjusted by pulling down each ear. The retractable brackets are metal and have numbers engraved or imprinted into them so you can remember exactly what your size is when storing them etc.
The ear cousions are very durable and ive had no issues with them at all. They cover your ears and are great for background noise reduction.
The microphone is great. It can retract on its own hidden hinge so its really easy to move it if nesecary. Another cool thing about the Mic is that it automatically mutes when you retract it. You can optionally mute it when its in the down position also by pressing the Mute button on the side. When the mic is muted a little LED lights up on the tip of the mic to indicate its mute status. The LED isnt too bright or right infront of your eye line either, you can just see it in the bottom of your eye and wouldnt actually notice it without thinking about it.
Now to the best bit, the G Keys. As most Logitech Gaming products, G Keys are assignable with shortbuts or scripts so they can do a varity of things when pressed. Mine at the moment Pause a song in iTunes, Go to the next song, or go to the previous song. There are tonnes of options to choose from in the included software aswell as voice morphing which is great to piss someone off whehn playing a game.
Aswell as the Mute & 3 G Keys, there is also a Volume scroller so you can change the volume or the PC ingame or anywhere.
Oh not to forget that these headphones are 7.1 surround sound and are totally epic for playing games. You can turn the surround sound on or off with a little discrete slide button at the back of the headphones.
Bad Points
Ok so thats my thoughts on the headset, I do have some bad points though too. Logitech wrapped the wire in a string type material. This is ment to stop you from snagging your wires when you yank them accidently, which is pritty hard to do because the wire is a good 2-3 meters long.
Your probably thinking well thats a good thing, well yes it is, but because the wires so long and your constantly taking your headphones on and off, the wire starts to twist and then you have to spend ages trying to untwist it. I know its only little but it really pisses me off.
If little things like that piss you off then get the Wireless version.
