Hello members of XeroStorm,

I'm looking for a new laptop that could be used for multiple purposes.
I'm mainly interested with gaming so I need one that has an avg of 50 fps while playing on medium detail of Starcraft II/LoL/World of Warcraft/etc...
I'd also like have the ability of hosting a private server on the computer.
Should have HD display.
Its for highschool-college work, running design programs such as photoshop, and after-effects...

Budget : 800 - 1000 Euros

I'd like your opinion on a good laptop
Note = I will not go for Acer as their products have been going down hill.

Firstly I'd like to say that Laptops weren't made for gaming purposes. My brother had a great Laptop yet it was running games pretty laggy even thought my desktop PC was not as good as his Laptop. For 800€~€1000 you can easily get a great gaming computer(you built it ofc) that's ten times better that the Laptop. I don't see it why people always like to buy them, gaming isn't good on there, believe me.

Thing is I'd love to get a PC its just I'm on the move a lot. I travel 2ce a year, and if I ever go to a friends house I take my laptop with me. I use it for mobility, so I could also use it in school.

Oh, that's a different story then. I'm not so much knowledgeable in Laptops as I've never wanted to buy one since I don't need it to take it with me. Make sure to look for quality, not the one who made it such as Alien Ware, they only look "good", but they're overpriced.

I must agree that those Alienwares' look awesome. I might just buy a general one with nice tech specs =P with a nice GPU

To be honest, it's best you go with HP, Sony, or Dell (some laptops)

I have a Dell Studio 1737, I've bought it roughly 4 years ago, and it has battery problems.

But it's 7kg, not lightweight, so I basically use it as a desktop PC. The battery decreases to 95%, then it immediately goes down to 7%.

Anyways, sorry for going offtopic,

I recommend getting a MSI GT683, It's $1400, but I converted it into euros and it's coming out to be 1012 euros, so if you can get 12 euros more, this laptop is definitely good. http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GT683.html

If you can't afford that, a Gateway ID49C13U is good. Pretty cheap, has an NVIDIA graphics chip and it can run all of the games you mentioned.

I have an HP of some sort (I'll look later when I'm at home).

It plays an FPS that I have at 120-140 fps. It's good. 17" display, HD, etc. Option to upgrade to Blu-Ray
