How to make CSS Skins. (requested by .nielz)
Programs needed
  • VTF Plugin for Photoshop which can be found here
  • GCFscape which can be found here Apparently may not be needed any more, PS with VTF reads GFCS files.
Lets start - make sure you have these ^

First things first, open up GFCscape, and go to "file, open and go to this path "C:drive/programfiles/valve/steam/steamapps/counter-strike source shared""

These are where all of the default skins are stored!

no still in GFCScape, open the counter strike source shared folder, and locate this "materials/models/weapons/" and then extract the skin(s) that you want to edit and open them up in photoshop. once you have finished editing, what you need to do is save the skin make sure it is VTF. if you want to use the skin, then put it in the original folder and locat "c:/steam/steamapps/username/counterstrike/cstrike/materials/models/weapons" no put the folder there and make sure what ever you took out, so if you took hands, put in "hands folder" and put in that diriectory!

This is just a really quick tutorial which was requested by .nielz. hope this helped you, if it helped you don't forget to leave a comment!
