Marriage Equality

Marriage equality is one of the biggest issues that our generation will have to discuss. There are thousands of gay and lesbian couples who hope and dream for the ability to get married. I believe that this right should not be denied. Who are we to decide who can marry and who cannot? If two people love each other, the should have the right to marry each other. In most states, people are denied this right. When you start not allowing humans to have basic rights, then we are contradicting the basis of what our country was founded on. Equality.

I'm very interested in hearing your opinions on the matter. Let's have a nice, kind and friendly discussion about this.

Any posts with flaming or use of derogatory terms will be reported.

I dont feel super passionate either way about this topic. I think marriage equality should be enforced. I cannot deny that if I saw two men making out with each other in public, it would bother me. I cant really change that in an instant.

I will say, though, that you have religion to thank for this one.

I totally agree, one of my mum's friends is gay and is currently engaged to his partner and they cannot take it further. I mean who really gives a fuck? Let them be themselves, they're not hurting anyone. These peoples that disagree are faggots, i bet some of them even have gay friends themselves but yet are against the marriage of them. Sounds fucking dumb to me, let them be whoever they want to be.

I'm sure your opinion if gays will change in the future. He'll, even seeing a dude and a girl on the street making out grosses me out. I'm not a huge fan of PDA.

Exactly my point. We shouldn't be able to control people like this.

I totally agree with you Leader.
You should be able to marry whoever you want no matter what their sex is.
It sucks that only a few states allow it.

I don't see any issue with them getting married. There really isn't any difference between people other than what we're taught I believe. I will admit, a gay kid tried to hug me yesterday (I don't know why, I assume jokingly), but I almost flipped the fuck out. Then again, I would be unhappy with any guy trying to hug me period.

I don't understand it, personally. But I agree they should be able to get married and express themselves in that way to the world.

What is there to understand? They love eachother, that's all there is.

Also, its important to know that marriage is just a title. If they love each other so much, why do they need a title to define that?

Something with government benefits i suppose..

They want to be the same as everyone else. Even though it is just a title, it's unfair to not allow them to have it. It may not be the solution to the bigger issue of equality, but it's progress.

It's absolutely ridiculous homosexuals are still denied marital rights and equal rights in general, in the modern world, especially in first world countries. The single con of gay marriage is that it contradicts religious beliefs, which already reside under false pretenses.

The longer we wait to give them equal rights, the more idiotic we'll look in the future upon reflection.

This is exactly what I tell the people who believe gay marriage shouldn't be allowed. We're only hurting ourselves.

In my honest opinion i don't see why they would deny gay marriage those people have the right to like the same sex, they're still humans like us they have emotions fellings, thoughts they're exatly like us just in their case they like the same sex oppose to the opposite sex

Thanks for the support you guys, i'm a happy gay man.. I'm engaged also, but yes we want to be part of the normal crowd also. For generations we've been treated like garbage, especially in school. Everyone hated me for basically being myself. I've been called so many names, i've been kicked, pushed, punched, in other words bullied for a huge portion of my life, and the gay community has experienced this all. We for once want to be normal instead of an outcast. Your support is truly amazing and heart warming thank you so much!

It makes me sad to realize that some people in our country are denied equality because of who they love.
