Should Maturity be based on a humans age?

In my opinion, in some ways it does, because older people most likely have been through way more then younger people, but in a lot of cases it is the other way around. Most of the time, younger people can be more mature in categories that a older person is not mature in.

Younger people can also know more things then other people, the biggest thing that younger people know more about these days are technology.

What are your opinions/views on this category?
Should age determine maturity?

Well it also depends on how you were raised, when you go through puberty, and where youre from. My girlfriend is more mature than her whole grade. She moved from out of town

I feel that maturity comes from who you are and who u want to be. I feel that it doesn't matter about age because i no many people that are in there 20 and still very immature, I think it has to do with your personality and who you want to present yourself as. im sure there are many 13 year old that have matured so it depends. i GUESS you could be influenced by other people that may affect you and how you act... @Boltage please elaborate? So your saying if you hit puberty earlier in life you will be more mature then others? I do not get it.

Yes, you mature through puberty. Also, maturity depends on whoever you hang out with.

@Boltage that is not true, I know many younger people than me that havent hit puberty, yet they are hella mature.

Due to what ive said above. Where theyre from, how they were raised, and who they're friends with, but i see where youre coming from. A lot of adults are very immature

Maturity has nothing to do with age or friends, it has to do with who you are as a person. The more you actually have to deal with the faster you grow up and realize that there is a real world you need to deal with.

I've met 13 year olds that are more mature than most people 18+

It differs by person not by a number.

Maturity is a mindset.

No causing drama for sake of drama.

The ability to accept that you can't, and won't always get your way.

Other stuff my morning brain doesn't want to think of.

Ultimately the more bullshit you go through in life the more mature you end up becoming, or so it seems.

In a way, it does involve age. The brain isn't fully developed until you're 23 if I'm not mistaken. But, that doesn't mean you must be 23. It all depends on the person.

No I don't think it should. Some 13 Year Olds act better than some 20 year olds

I believe it just purely depends on the person.
I've met sixteen year olds who are far more intelligent and mature than my friends who are seniors in college.
But then again, I've met sixteen year olds who are more immature than a twelve year old.
It just depends on the person, and in a way how they were raised.
Anyone can be more immature/mature than the next person.
