RE: MF Janitors

I would rather not.

You don't need to be in a group to help this forum, report posts, or deal with the post if you are staff. It would do the same thing as anyone in the "Janitors" reporting it.

It doesn't need to be reporting posts to help MF.
It could be anything. That's why I'm asking.
There was talk in the thread about making it official, I'm making the suggestion more easily viewable by the whole of the MF community.

For me, It would accomplish making the forums safe for newer members. Plus report posts when needed. We just need to talk about it more.

The name alone implies that it is for reporting posts, honestly you shouldn't be inclined to report posts just because you are in a group, you should report posts for the forums quality.

Ok, Ignore the name. Call it group.
I just grabbed what the title said in the thread.

To tell you the truth, I don't see what they could do. As for being High Quality... I don't understand that. Why should there be a group for High quality? People are not always going to be High Quality.

True. Though for members it could be something to strive for.
You may not feel good about accomplishing something online, but a lot of people do.

To be honest Wiggles (refuse to call you your new name) and Xypher have a point. Though it's something that would benefit MF since people seem to be scared to use the report button here, but it doesn't give the site a good look if we have to have a group for HQ users. Though I'm very interested in adding some sort of Support group. "Helper", "Support" and "Assistance" are the names that come to mind.

I also agree with Crayo, I really like the name 'Mentor'(group) but it's not clever to copy from others. I would name a group like this 'Assistant'.

The group would be invite only, and it would be a stepping stone group for becoming future Staff. Since we've got bigger there will be less random promotions from member to Staff etc. If this group is added, expect a few changes :p

I was going to say that, even if this wouldn't be the same as the Mentors (I think), it's the idea of having semi-staff, helpful members.

@Crayo, yes this is a really good idea in my opinion.
@Zammyslave, I agree with you about this one.

@To all;

The group should be invite-only for the people that COULD become staff afterwards. There wouldn't be 100% a chance to get a staff position after being in that group, you would need to qualify yourself for it. That group should have some more privileges than the regular and VIP members.

Yes, indeed. I agree on that.

They will get some permissions that regular users don't, but they won't get more than VIP. They'll probably get around the same, but VIP have the few extra perks that makes them VIP.

They should get their own sub-forum though.
