Release Date

Minecraft's official release date was the 18th of November 2011. This was during MineCon when Notch (the head creator of Minecraft) pulled the "lever" to officially release the full game or 1.0. Although this was the release date, they still do updates, and the latest version is 1.2.4.


Developers

This game was developed by a small company called Mojang. Mojang is an indie game developer studio based in Stockholm, Sweeden. They have developed Minecraft and Scrolls. Mojang consists of only 16 members led by Markus Persson a.k.a Notch.

Minecraft is currently only available for PC, but Mojang has stated the the official release of Minecraft for Xbox will be May 9, 2012.

You are the player in Minecraft. You get to play as who ever you want. You get to design your own skin and upload it to minecraft.net.


Synopsis

Minecraft is a game where your imagination is the limit. You can build virtually anything. You use "blocks" to build, and you place them to build anything from cool buildings, to pixel art. You can create your own Minecraft server for people to join and play together. You can also download and create mods, and plugins for servers. There are no rules to follow, so the adventure is up to you. :)


Personal Rating

I give the game a 9/10 because there are no limits to the possibilities in this game, but the graphics aren't exactly "Crisis 2" quality.​

It comes out for the Xbox this year, and this review could be for the Xbox version on the PC version. It can go either way.
 
Cant wait for the xbox version. It'll be better graphics and a big screen FTW!

I know, I have seen the previews, and the playing is a lot smoother. It has no lag, and the shading is really nice. The game has really improved.
 
This game started out as some little test copy and know it's turning out big.

..You are just..no..The PC version of a game will always be better because of mods and customization, also it's cheaper.

That is actually what I was thinking. The game would really lose a lot of what it is with no mods and customization, but will will have to see. Also, Minecraft will actually be cheaper on the Xbox. It is only 1200 Microsoft points which is equal to $15 and the game for the PC is $26.95.
 
I have voted 5, because this game is over rated and way to many people play this game. this game is easy coded and it's just blocks.

Yes, agree the game was fun around 2 years ago or later when it first come out i had a cracked version and the game was fun as hell.

But know i have owned around 5+ servers and been staff on many more. i did youtube videos on this like tuts and other guides and that with some mates.

But i don't like to play this game anymore. so thats why i have rated this 5 out of 10.
 
Ive only played this game a few times. but i love it. Once its out on the 360 i play it so much since my laptop is dumb to play minecraft on
 
I don't like minecraft you have to take a bunch of stuff just to make one simple item.
 
We just bought a minecarft sever. hopfuly ross has it ready tm. I wanna start playing this game
 
Nice review I give it a 9/10 it's a very enjoyable game and I spend alot of time on it .
