MOTM/SOTM/SOTW

I'm pretty sure you guys know what they are.

• MOTM: Member of the month
• SOTM: Staff of the month
• SOTW: Signature of the week

I have no idea why not a single one has been implemented yet, I think this is an ideal way to increase FK's activity and even members' quality in terms of helping people out, high quality posts and etc. I feel that this is also the right time to carry out official MOTM, SOTM and SOTW contests, considering the dramatic phase we're going through.

You're probably not sure about SOTW since we don't have a lot of graphic designers here, but that's the whole point of having one. The contest itself will bring in newer and competitive members/gfx designers. However, we can have a GOTM (Graphics of the month) contest instead of a SOTW if there's too much of a fuss about it.

As far as selection goes, we could nominate for members/staffs/designs or and then vote via polling or something. Or we could have a staff do the nominating. For instance, 5 members worthy for a MOTM are selected by staff and then have members vote on one of them.

Reward? Not sure, the winners could receive an award certifying their status, and perhaps be moved to a special usergroup or own a custom colored username for a month.
This I believe, would give members incentive to help out around the forums, and become more active in the FK community.

It's just a bit of fun and gives credit to those guys who have been top notch on the forums. What do you think about this?

Dear god I love this Idea. Praise messiah of ForumKorner lead me into a better forum of tomorrow. (In all seriousness I like the MOTM idea the best)

Sniper used to run the unofficial member of the month a while ago. I'm in favor of that. However, I think the other ones aren't needed.

Well yeah, but we need an official MOTM contest. As for my two (oh wait, 3) other suggestions, I just thought I could add it in here in case someone likes and supports the idea. Thanks for the supportive feedback guys.

I do not think we have the activity to do this yet.

It's a pretty nice idea. I like the MOTM idea the most.

That is one of the reasons why I suggested this. Hopefully with the help of these contests, we will see an increase in activity.

I like these ideas, other than the staff of the month, the same 2 would win every time. Other than that, I think these would be great additions to the site.

You can make it so once you've won you cannot win again, but I just see it ending badly.

End badly? I don't see why having a member win a MOTM contest for 2 consecutive months is a bad thing. It represents hard work. As long as the winner fully deserve it, it's completely fine to win more than once. At least that's what I think.
