I couldn't find a spot for actual feedback so this will do.

I know many of you don't know me, but I was an active part of Runegear helping to moderate it at different times, and have had experience with dozens of forums over the past six years and would like to give you some feedback. I have spent the past month here (mostly lurking, but yes i'm here) and have noticed several things.

The first thing that stands out is the quality of the users. As with any forum there are many high quality users who mean well and contribute. However, the amount of users that are immature and feel like they are "the man" so to say due to the amount of rep and awards they have is overwhelming. This does not apply to everyone with high rep or numerous awards! However the fact is that there seems to be a lot of "rep for rep" type deals going on. Just because you have a high green number next to your name, doesn't make you better than a perfectly high quality user who joined a week ago. This being said, it is quite noticible that there are also several "cliques" on the forum. Now I might be wrong here, but the point and philanthropy of most groups is to enhance the forum for regular users with its contributions and helpfulness, not to look down upon "lesser" members.

The second major thing is that quite frankly the entire user base is made up of console gamers (almost all xbox) and social medium junkies. If there is any hope for this forum in the long term you need to get members to join that are interested in different aspects. A diverse community is a thriving community. Note that by "getting members" I do not mean buying another forum. Try actually advertising properly and maybe giving some incentive to be active in different sections in the forum.

I don't expect to be listened to, but atleast you've heard what I have to say.

I appreciate your opinion but when you say that Forum Korner is made up of console gamers and social medium junkies I have to disagree. I am personally building a gaming PC and rarely use my Xbox. I also am not particularly interested in social mediums and original usernames and I find plenty of things to do on this site. I do agree that alot of this site is based around social mediums though.

Exactly, we don't have a diverse enough community with members specializing in different areas/sections. Philly needs to start promoting and advertising this site real soon, especially after a guy called Quad bought a lot of negative adult backlinks to get Google to penalize FK. Offering incentives might help, but a good SEO is really needed.

Agreed, otherwise the lifespan of this forum is very limited.

Users do receive awards for keeping the different forums open, so that's an incentive to get involved. I agree with a lot of this, it'd be nice to have some more graphics members to chill with.

The buying and selling theme is quite big here on FoumKorner.

Sorry to say this but you're a minority on the site.

I agree with some if these things. Newer members seem to be pushed away quite often actually, not everyone does this, but it does happen. I think it'd be cool to have more diversity within the site as well.
