So I don't know what its ACTUALLY being referred to as, as I stay as far away from it as possible, but here is an example that I made up in like 10 seconds so there isn't proper lighting:
Essentially, you duplicate your text and create the text's depth this way. Here are my thoughts on it, you don't have to agree, I'd like to hear your thoughts as well.
Okay, so first off I think its REALLY overused, when I first got into Graphics/YouTube graphics it was overused, and that was 2010/2011. Sure, its a good starting point, but at some point, you need to move away from it. There are a TON of simple effects that can be accomplished in C4D with BASIC knowledge of the software, and even more that take maybe 15-20 minutes to learn.
I personally don't think that this method of creating text looks good, if you want 3D Text, why not just make normal 3D text, maybe throw on a reflective material? It will look a LOT better than the layered look that you get with this method.
I feel that people should start moving away from this style of text/signature.
Now for my thoughts on thrausi/nitroblast
While these are effective plug-ins, the way they're being used doesn't appeal to me. Right now when I see thrausi/nitroblast sigs they tend to include some fractured text, maybe some oil paint, and thats about it.
With thrausi I tend to see a lot of the "Wave/Warp" look with the broken pieces, or some really poorly executed shattered text.
With these plug-ins, I suggest avoiding oil paint, avoiding the tacky Warp look, and going for more of a rocky, or icy look. There are TONS of materials available for you to use, and yet what I tend to see are Black + White, Blue, Red, Really just SOLID color materials. Get some nice textured materials for thrausi/nitroblast.
Make the text look REALISTIC. What I mean by that is using a rocky material can give it a destroyed look, an icy material with thrausi/nitroblast looks AMAZING as well.
I don't know just wanted to put this out there.
