If this is about my comment you can actually get fucked. The last time groups were worth anything is when they were first created and when greed sold infinite.

Groups will never be worth anything as long as the amount of groups stays the same.

Although I don't own a group I do feel that you make a good point, groups get thrown around a lot nowadays and I guess they lose their exclusivity.
To be fair though I probably have no idea as to what I'm talking about so I'll just hush.

It was actually about someone that bought the same group package as myself and then turned around and is selling it now (like two months later).. even after saying they wanted to make something of a group now that the market for them is ruined. So, no, it's not about you -- at all.

To anyone that says the amount of groups will forever affect the market: you're wrong. The value of groups has clearly plummeted, but it's not like we can't change the matter. Don't be ignorant and jump the gun (as the majority of kids on this thread did). If you actually read this thread, you'd realize a thing or two.

Thank you to those whom understand where I'm coming from..

@"Chill", it's disappointing that you, of all people, would be on the opposition. You know that I'm right. I recall selling Valiance for $220.00 and Archetypal for around $200.00. Those groups weren't shit compared to Immortals. We can fix it regardless of the number of groups -- you know this. I'm also pretty sure that you thought this was aimed at you, which may be why you're defensive. Hopefully, that is true and you're truly not standing with the members that oppose the possibility of change due to ignorance and a bandwagon.

I'm all for change to be put into place with groups. I remember when i first sold superior it went for a small fortune.

@Sector it's cool now i'm with you but then again some parts i'm not. 60/40, it will take some time to regain prices.

I fully understand the need for money and what people are willing to do to earn it when in need. Let's check this out. Philly made five packages in which he sold for $75.00 in an effort to pay for the server. Before continuing, let's review the package contents.

Onyx and Power memberships ($38.00)
Donator and Master Donator awards ($50.00)
Lifetime Supporter membership ($250.00)

That is a $338.00 value at which was sold for $75.00. That is 78% off with a savings of $263.00. Good enough in itself to sell for $75.00, but instead Philly throws in a custom award as well. [font=Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]Five packages were sold! If five packages had been sold at full price, earnings would have reached $1,690.00. Fuck the prices.  I couldn't give a fuck less what people pay for a group, seeing as mine won't be going anywhere.  The problem is the overabundance of groups, in combination with the lazy fucks that own, and join them.  Members are the reason groups are useless at this point.  There are absolutely zero people who are willing to dedicate any time whatsoever to a group at this point, due to the fact that they can join another and wear a gay ass userbar instead.  Philly can't make members active in groups, we have to.  Unfortunately, I'll tell you now, it won't happen.  I'll just keep trying with no results.

Don't forget that before you can sell or even buy from the market. There first has to be a market. With, well, honestly, as many active people that I see on FK, a real market with decent prices isn't going to come around for a while.

Edit: After reading some of the above posts, it seems the best thing at this point for the market would be to prevent the selling and buying of any current or future groups and awards.

Do like Ray-Bans did in the 80's. They were all so were horribly undervalued, they pulled them off the market for a while. Now they're back, and guess what? You all know how much a pair of raybans cost.

The problem here is simple supply demand. The supply is too high and the demand is too low. So, refusing the sales of groups and awards will not only increase demand, it'll increase the price. (duh)
 
I mean there are only a few ways to solve this situation.
I doubt each group owner will come together and have a chat about actually making the groups worthwhile and active.
Most group owners are inactive so yeah thats another problem.

I don't ever think this will change...........

But this thread seems more of a rant that you probably bought your group for something more than 100$ and now you're losing any profits and that you want them to be at similar prices of like other forums where groups go for like 2k+ or even more.
If the value goes up of groups then there will probably be some flipping of it.
 
Couple of things that could be done:

- Put a limit on the duration of when a group can be sold. E.g user "a" sells his group to user "b" and then user "b" sells his group after a month. Make it so groups can't be sold for a longer period e.g 3-6 months?
- Enforce a minimum group sale price of $150 or higher (not sure this can/will be possible though).
- Stop selling new groups (obviously).
- Higher the transfer fee for group sales to discourage them being sold (probably a bad idea).
- Maybe Philly could offer a buy-back scheme to buy back a few groups at a cut down price e.g $60 with no transfer fee. This would mean that people looking for quick money can sell directly to the owner. This would of course then need Philly to NOT re-sell these groups. Or to re-sell them at a much higher price MONTHS down the line.
- Group owners should really be more strict on members in their group. So many members are in "x" group, but don't even wear the userbar of that group. How is that helping the value of that group or how are you contributing to that group? You aren't. It should be made so if you are in a group, that is the only UB you can wear (apart from upgrades). At least with this, at least members in that group would actually give a damn about the group and contribute towards it instead of doing fuck all.


Just my two cents, take it with a pinch of salt.
