Over the years I have had many requests even some members have offered to pay to have me change ForumKorner'sforum software. I am asking what you as a member what you  think about this. Should we stay with MyBB or make the switch to Xenforo. Please reply with pros and cons with your decision and please vote in the poll.

Please KNOW I wouldn't consider ever switching without previously having absolutely ever feature ready to be available to my members that is currently available for my members. In other words, you will lose absolutely nothing and all current features will still be available.

For those that do not know the difference please check out the following links:
MyBB: http://www.mybb.com
Xenforo: https://xenforo.com

Thank you.

I'm not sure how acquainted you are with Cake, but I'd approach him about DieBB.

Don't switch to anything.
I've used vB and Xen and myBB is the most easiest and user friendly. Awards mean a lot to people as do groups, it would be a hassle to make everything the same/similar on VB or Xen (especially vB).

I was running Xen on Virtualtrades as whilst it was user friendly and much more cleaner, there were benefits we lost that we didn't have on vB.

If you switch I'd predict you losing around 20% of the current userbase if not more. Once people are accustomed to something (as they are here), they don't like change.

I wouldn't consider changing if absolutely every feature currently available, remained available. With that aside, you should then make your selection.

Groups/Award's were not something that mattered / were in place on Virtualtrades so this wasn't an issue for me.
We lost a lot of our SEO links from switching from vb (which we had since 2009) to Xenforo also - which impacted traffic.

Right now the SEO is currently messed up regardless and its going to take alot so before I do I must figure out what is best. Our SEO currently needs ALOT of attention and perhaps using another software is key on achieving whats desired.

I see. Well best of luck. Although from personal experience, the 'built in SEO' on Xen didn't do much.
Lets see what everyone thinks I guess.

@philly
Pros of MyBB: Easy, Many Customization, Fast, Low Memory User, Many Plugins
Cons of MyBB: Can Hacked Easily, Themes Get Ripped Faster

Pros of Xenforo: Good Interface, Look is Good, More Secured, Theme can't get Ripped
Cons of Xenforo: Low Customization, Low Features

If you can implement all things in XenForo without any problem then try that in another domain or then we can switch after getting reviewd.

Mybb is better for new-professional users @Philly. I used to run the site Coremodding, we had Xenforo. It was nice for security purposes, a little more secure than MyBB. You did a hell of a job and put some time in it @Philly so why waste all the time you put in to this software. Also with XF, there are shitty features with it MYbb has better plugins etc. Keep MYBB!

If you were to switch, then don't go to Xenforo. Its a horrid experience for most. vBulletin has some great features that can easily top it over MyBB if you ask me. But it really is up to the community on that one. But if you intend to either stay on MyBB or switch to Xenforo then stay on MyBB.

Personally I have no experience on the other one, but I see no need to change. I am use to wear everything is and how it all works. Can someone link me a forum using Xenforo so I can try it out, cannot make a decision without giving the other system a fair chance.

@Hobbs I gave it a look, can you change the colors and everything? I personally like this one more, but that may be because im use to the current one.

It's a theme, just like there's a theme here. It can all be changed.
Not sure if rep would import over though as it's myBB's reputation system. If it did, there may be limitations to what you could do on Xenforo. When I used it, I never saw an option to specify a rep amount per usergroup.

@hobbs I can't see everything being moved over as myBB and Xenforo are different set ups, im gonna vote for myBB, I don't see any real benefit of changing and it could risk losing members.
