Contrary to some recent rumors, the next generation iPhone is coming in October, not September, All Things Digital reports quoting sources familiar with the matter.
After Apple didn’t reveal a new iPhone during its yearly Worldwide Developers Conference in June, when new iPhones are usually announced, most media outlets picked September as the most likely time slot for the launch.
The news that AT&T is halting employee vacations during September added more fuel to the rumor. But now ATD‘s source claims that this is unrelated to the new iPhone and it will actually be out in October.
As far as what the next generation iPhone will look like and the features it’ll have, we’re mostly in the dark. Some rumors indicate a small, evolutionary upgrade of the iPhone 4, while others say that the new iPhone will be thinner and have a larger display than its predecessor.
We’ll just have to wait until October (or September, perhaps) to find out the truth.
