Ya 90% of cops are dicks, clearly they had no intentions of putting him in jail or charging him with anything, so they didn't bother notifying his parents or reading him his rights. Just being the average ass hole cop trying to scare a kid. Anytime your taking to a police station you should have a lawyer present.

Where I live, cops tackled my friend for skateboarding on a sidewalk in front of a building. Not even inside its property, just on the sidewalk next to it.

Being a teen myself I can say that most my peers attempt to be a smart ass around law enforcement. Some even go as far as using inappropriate language or gestures towards them. The boy in this video was slightly respectful though and was not rude. That being said video taping the officer is most likely invasion of privacy. Even though it was a public place you can't film or photograph if it interferes with police, fire, medical, or any other emergency operations. Now the charge of interfering with a public investigation is one I am not familiar with. But this kid does not understand the law saying that its his right to video tape the officer.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the video(yet) due to my lack in usage, but I've been experiences in the past with police, one time about 4 years ago me and my mum got into a huge argument and i stayed at a friends house for a day or so, she got the police involved, she called and said she wanted to talk to me, I met with her and there was a police officer, he attempted to restrain me and throw me in the back of the car, I wasn't resisting that much as i would have been only 13. As he was trying to close the door on me i put my foot in the door so he couldn't close he, he then went from bending my arm behind my back to strangling me to the point i could not do anything, i couldn't get a breath and i was having a panic attack, it came and it went again and again, later that day i had spots all over my face, due to the severity of the strangling(with his elbow).

Now I don't know about you but if a 13 year old isn't touching you and is just trying to get away from the scary tall man in blue that happens to be restraining you in an unlawful matter then i don't think that what he did was called for WHATSOEVER! Even my mum thought so, we were going to press charges, we didn't end up doing it, I still blame my mum for deceiving me and allowing it to happen. <(Sorry for the length)

I read through your post and since you can't watch the video I'll summarize it for you. Basically a 17 year old walks up with a video camera to an on duty officer in a public road and asks him a question about unlawful search's the department has been taking place in. The officer places him under arrest for interfering with a police investigation without immediately reading him his rights. The officer does have the right to place him under arrest for invasion of privacy and is allowed to read the boy his rights at a later point.
