When you're in a relationship with someone, when do you tell your family about them, especially mom and dad, or would you rather not tell them?

i would rather not to tell them, i haven't try to tell to them that I have a boyfriend.

I will tell him all of the information he want to know.if i can't tell him my secret in the future he will also knew it,maybe he will upset because i'd lie to him.i will choose an open relationship

as for me, im waiting for the right time and im not in a hurry.i am into a girl to girl relationship and im sure my religious and conservative parents will not easily approve of it.so until now what they know is that she is my best friend.

well i hope all parents are like that.but some are not.but i believe that if at first they don't approve in the long run if we prove that we made the right choice of entering into the relationship and they see that we know our limitations and that we are responsible soon enough they will agree with the relationship.

I'm not telling them, because I'm afraid that they will get angry and bring me in the province. They told me that I can have a boyfrienmd when I finished my studies, I will have the freedom to choose but I can't help it.

i understand why some girls are afraid to there parents not to tell them that they have a bf.. because some parents are super strict to their baby girls specially in relationship(boyfriend) thing evil: unlike boys... :Smile:

It is a secret as always. Relationships begin and ends without my family knowing it. All of my relationships are short lived. I don't need to tell them.

well, im not a secretive type of person ,so my lovelife is like an open book to my family i dont keep any secrets from my family because in times that i get in trouble they are the first who will helped me.

i had 3 serious relationships, but i only introduced 1 to my family. that was after my college graduation. the act was a product of both the depth of the relationship and my independence/maturity. it is not a must but it is important for both parties to know each other. life would be easier if we do not hide anything from our parents, i know that you get what i mean lol

I was pretty open about it. If it was more than two or three dates then Id tell my family about him. I didnt however take him to meet the folks unless I thought it was going to be a serious relationship. Mind you, I lived 1000 miles away from my parents, if I had been living much closer, Id have probably introduced the boyfriends sooner.

I can't tell my family about my relationships. I usually hide it because I know that they will never allow me to be in a relationship. It is sad though in a way that I want my "special someone" to be part of my family but knowing parents especially my mom, I can't have the courage to tell them who I am with. I need to take a lot of considerations.

just pray that someday you will get to introduce him to your family. that's what i'm praying for myself right now. have faith and just be patient.

Base on my experience, I prefer to tell your parents, cos they can give you an advices how to handle a good relationship. Parents got angry if their son/daughter had a relationship at young age, cos they might afraid that their children would focus on their bf/gf not on their studies.

I'm very open when it comes with my relationship with my boyfriend. I wanna share my happiness and sorrow with my parents. It's even good if you let them feel that even you have your own relationship, they are still part of your system. Children always forget parents when they met their partner. We should let them feel that they are still in our hearts even we have our own relationship. ^^

I don't want a relationship without the permission of my parents..I don't have such relationship now if I have one I definitely inform them...

It is better to have your relationship be known to your parents. That way parents can advice you regarding dealing with a relationship and its a good idea too to introduce the guy or girl to them. Believe me it is just proper for you and for them to know whom you are having relationship with, for your own good and for their peace of mind.
