Hey, I was just wondering what operating systems everyone uses, I have used windows all my life but am considering trying out freeBSD/Debian although I am not sure. I have tried Debian out on a VM and found it pretty fun to use but I feel freeBSD would be hard to get used to and find it hard to find seriously newbie guides for it.

Post what OS you use and if you would recommend it

I would recommend Linux Mint as you still get the Windows feel (Well in the KDE Version you do) with all the power of Linux. @"Carbon" Didn't Ubuntu 12.04 just release?

10.10 is closer to the core OS, a LOT less bloatware.
When did they add Unity to the OS. I stopped using Ubunutu right around then and switched on Linux Mint on my second computer. Still run Windows on my main one.

11.14, but there's a option to disable unity and go back to gnome.

I tried using Gnome 2.x and 3.x but neither seemed as good as Mints Customized KDE.
