Option to turn off noticiations for tags

I was browsing the UserCP and I noticed there are options for receiving notifications.

Can we add a way so that you can choose whether or not you want Alerts to show up if you have been tagged in a post?

Just a simple suggestion, but I would imagine some users get tagged all the time.

Can I ask why? It doesn't harm anything. And it's completely up to the user as to whether or not to disable it.

It just doesn't seem important enough to add. Like I said my opinion doesn't matter though

Everyone's opinion matters. Sometimes it's the non-important things that make a difference.

Not saying this is going to make a difference. It would just be a nice thing to do.

Say for example, you want to browse completely notification free after posting a fire thread. You'd just have to turn off your mentions and you don't have to worry about it.

I like receiving notifications makes me feel like I have friends; ok I'll leave you alone now

You can if I am understanding what you are suggesting. Go to Alert Settings and it is the last setting.
