PC, more like Social Computer.

Has anyone else seen the new Windows 8? It can't be classified as the PC anymore, it's all social this, social that. I'm thinking we should change the name permanently to the Social Computer.

The jump from Win7 to 8 is extensive, I'm glad to see innovation, but IMHO it's in the wrong way... Integration isn't always a good thing, especially when people want their privacy. What I write on a document shouldn't be tweeted. That is all.

Exactly. I don't know where they're going with this. Have they considered a separate release to Win8 which is even remotely similar to win7 for some sanity to it's loyal followers (me).

Resembles the Windows Phone. And I agree with you TE. However, life in today's society includes lots of social networks and people can't help but use them. Apparently, companies are using that to their advantage by getting people to buy their stuff once they include social networks in them!

I agree, it's all about the money. More power to Linux then IMHO, developers will move over there for their emphasis on DIY, rather than social features.

I remember trying the Milestone 3 release 6 months ago. I don't know if much has changed but it made me want to vomit. The steps they're going to, which they believe make Windows easier to use, are quite redundant unless you're blind as fuck! It's been made to simplify touch screen use. But touch screen PC's are already outdated due to the constant updates to tablets (iPad, Galaxy tab, etc). This release will completely screw with peoples minds. A "Start" button and taskbar has been the default platform in which Windows is built on because it allows for easy program execution, file searching, simplistic shortcutting. The list goes on and on. Computer illiterate users are going to buy new laptops with Windows 8 Metro defaulted themes and they're going to flip tables.
