Physiologically speaking, why can some people sing well and others can't?

I've always wondered why some people can sing so beautifully while others could probably register their voice as a weapon of mass destruction. What is the physical reason for this?

I'm not really sure if there is a physical reason unless if the person has problem with his throat or vocal cords. I believe having a good voice is a product of hard word and dedication to practice and also you have to consider professional help from a voice trainer or musician.

I think singing is a talent and skill. If you understand what good singing is about and you love it then probably you can sing too. It can be develop by practicing. If you don't love it then you won't make effort to practice. The people who really love singing practice a lot that's why they become good singer.

The Singing is a born talent hidden in some people, it is not a self made talent like acting which is also born talent.
Some people sing well because they have better voice quality of their voice box in their neck.
