Policies Against Smoking!

Government in various countries is making different policies against the smoking to discourage people from smoking. Like in India smoking in public is banned. Minors can't purchase cigarettes from any shop. Cigarette vending shops can't be situated within 100 meters from a school, Advertising the cigarettes on the mass media is banned etc. Instead of doing all these things why government is not banning the companies manufacturing the cigarettes? It is a hypocrisy on the part of Government, as this sector gives the Government a lot of revenue in the form of taxation! Then why should it cut the Goose giving the Golden Eggs? Your views please?:Smile:

that just the same in Indonesia, same rule, but can not close the cigarette company, 1 is because of the big tax from it, another one is because in this company there many worker, if the company being ban, the worker will be unemployed.

Hello Dear Fenshu! You have a valid point regarding the employment issue! Developing countries can't take risk of closing such rewarding companies as this may hamper the employment opportunity to many citizens! Thanks for responding!:Smile:

ya guys u r right. Apart from the big revenue dat the government get in the form of tax they cant just stop closing the industries and in the packet of cigarrette it is clearly mentioned that Smoking is Injurious to Health. So there is no fault of the companies as it is the will of the citizens.

for me,i agree it should be have policies in smoking because i had noticed some people they were smoke in public vechicle they dont care others thay they would affect, and that's right i agree to that, minor cant purchase cigarettes you know as of now, plenty of minors had smoking.and it should be banned because its dangerous to our health doesnt brought good to our health so, thats right to banned the advertising of manufacturing companies.

yeah in indonesia, Even educated and supposedly intelligent people here cling to outdated beliefs in herbal remedy sellers (jamu, jamu), knifeless surgery and traditional massage healers (for broken bones and cancer etc). Many an Indonesian will tell you that that have Masuk Angin ( a bad wind has entered the body) when feeling unwell.
Against this backdrop, it is hard to see how the vulnerable would not be taken in . So if you get sick because your smoke habits, don't worry, there's a buch of jamu can you get and it's totally cheap.

smoking must be stop soon in all countries to avoid massive spread of lung cancer which is really uncurable when you started to have it especially those underage teenager learns how to smoke and get addicted to it which is not good to thier health.

Smoking is very dangerous for health like it is very harmful for lungs.
I think it should be banned at least in Hospitals, Educational institutes ans in public places.

ya it is a major problems in every country i think it should be banned in through out the world but it is not possible it is a habit of 25% of world population
