I have seen many people who are very much possessive about their partners! People may joke about this feature! But if seriously thought this is a form of love which is manifested by these people in this way! I feel these type of people are simple and innocent and they are not too Worldly wise! Possessiveness in love is quite common among the partners. In fact, the central theme of D. H. Lawrence's novels is the sense of possessiveness of a lover for his beloved. If it becomes an obsession, it might create some problems in a person's life.

possessive can be both positive and negative, Positive if both are possessive and negative if not. similar attracts, opposite repels.

Yeah.. I do agree with you.. I do believe in this because I find myself possessive when I'm in love. I don't know if it's a healthy thing but that's what my indication is when I'm truly in love with a person. :Woot:

I can understand the feeling of possessive people but I do not think, I can consider their possessiveness as another form of manifesting love. This is just being selfish. But the lack of possessiveness will also backfire. The other side may not feel your love if you will not show any jealousy.

possessiveness is a dangerous word.yes there is a;ways some sort of possessiveness in any relationship but over possessiveness leaves you with no space for yourself.you start suffocating in such relationships and tend to run away.i can't stay with a person who intrudes in my personal space.

I don't think love needs possessiveness, this world in itself is so possessive that I am feeling chocked. How can I stand some one who will watch me and would try to own me as if I am a slave of him/her. I want to fly like a free bird and don't want to be caged.

I can say that it is another form of manifestation of love but if it is too much to the extent that being possessive has crossed boundaries of the relationship, then it is not healthy anymore by both partners.
