I think the current postbit should be rearranged.
I'm talking about this:
It'd look more natural if the information on the right was separated into two columns rather than one, making the entire blue gradient itself shorter in height.
A box/border around the avatar as well as some sort of system for usertitles would make it look more natural as well.
I also suggest moving the status under the usertitle (where it says "Noobie") or under or close to the avatar or name. English speakers naturally read from left to right and it's more natural for us to see the status as we see their name to know whether or not we should continue conversation with them or PM them. It also makes the gradient shorter, which is definitely a top priority IMO.
As of now, the postbit gradient takes up about as much space as a post its self in most situations.
Of course there's no exact science to it. My ideas on it don't necessarily have to be implemented, but it stands out to me that there is definitely room (and need) for improvement on the postbit.
