Question about buying advertising

Well, I may buy advertising on this site in the near future.
But how long until the 2 head banners are gone from there? I wanna buy it there and not a foot banner because head banners get seen more.
Oh, and would it be advertising if I used a sig that I use on every other site but it has 'x' sites name in it?
I've seen someone have it like that today somewhere and I was wondering if I could do the same.

Sorry for the late response. However There will be one available spot open on august 1st. However if you don't get it fast it will be purchased by someone else guaranteed. The headers adspace never lasts. Everyone wants it.
