[Question] Xbox Live account migration.

So I bought a gamertag from someone in the UK, I secured the account and now I'm trying to migrate it to the States so I can use gift cards on it.
My problem is I keep getting the error when I try to migrate the account.

I would just try to contact customer chat support if it doesn't work soon

If you have an XB1, change the locale to US and you'll be able to redeem gift cards.

If not, I suggest contacting support and make them migrate it for you.

I usually change my locale to India just for shits and giggles, have you tried from an xbox 360 console? that's how I do it and I've yet to have any troubles @lies

That doesn't migrate the account, it only affects the console.
