Racism getting used to much?

I personally think the term of us, whites being racist, is used to much.
For example, in the US afro-Americans say to each other "staff edit". <- N-word.
When some white person does the same, he is classified as a racist.

What is your opinion of this?

It is not that we (whites) didn't do anything to accept blacks in our society. Personally I don't the example in the OP isn't racist, I think it's racist if you refuse someone for a job, due the skin color.

We are just using the term completely wrong as African Americans have the right to say it as the N word means black or dark skin person. White people on the other hand are using it towards other white people are using the word wrong. It is kinda of like white people in America using aye wrong.

In general I hate all forms of slang. I feel like using any terms, derogatory or not, are improper and I loathe it. But regardless, I don't understand why people label words as being 'wrong'? Like why is saying the slang version of African American worse? It means the same thing. I understand that there's a history too it dating to the 1700's, but even still it's kinda dumb. If I get called a cracker, I laugh. Being offended is pointless really, especially if it's over a word.
