100M RSGP referral contest​

the idea of the contest is to get some new people into the community, and also, get people posting a bit more regularly;

~First off you guys have to refer somebody to the forums.
once you have referred somebody to the forums get them to post in this thread, or alternatively PM me, or even add me on skype, its in my signature. once i have confirmed a referral for you i will add you to the following list:



once you are on this list you are in for a chance to win 100M RSGP.

On the 30th of november i will score both you, and the person that you referred to the forums out of ten for post volume, and, quality.

The winner is the person with the highest overall score out of your combined scores.
for example: your 1 to 10 points +the 1 to 10 points of each person you have brought to the forums.

the full prize will go to the person in 1st place after the competition. all of the winners referers will recieve upto*1 month premium membership
*
premium only available for the first 10 refered people afterwards, it is 5m for each one
The conditions
  • Should the person that you have brought to the forums make just one post in this thread they will be discounted, although you will remain in the chance to win and be scored out of 10 yourself.
  • if less than 3 people enter by the 23rd of this month it will be called off
  • ALL REFERRALS YOU HAVE GOT FOR THE SITE PRIOR TO THIS THREAD BEING MADE DO NOT COUNT.

Prior to this contest I have gotten a pretty decent number of people to join and actually be active (Make threads/post). A few are also premium.

Don't think I will be able to do as good as I have done in the past....but I will see what I can do just for the fun of it. I can't actually enter the contest or win anything though. =p

Tip:
A really good way to get people to join is just by talking and being friendly! Just start talking to people and have a friendly conversation. Then mention something about a really cool forum (RG). They will usually become curious and think that since you are such a nice and friendly guy that they need to check this forum out because there could be more awesome friendly people just like you there.

That's what I did and it worked really well.

I have an incentive. If the forum is a better place, I have more fun and enjoy it more. =D

Sounds cool, but I have no friends, so this might get a bit difficult.

The majority of the people I referred I didn't even know. Just random people I started talking to.

Wrong approach. But I give you a C for trying.

One of the more effective ways I used was I would just chill at GE looking all rich and such (as usual). Then people would come up to me of course and start asking how I made so much money. I would say I flip and they want to know how they could do it also. I'd tell them about a guide I made and that they can see it on this forum.

meh, most RS players want to emulate rich players and will do anything to achieve it.

they can always ignore the hacking stuff anyways.

also, its against the rules to hack other members.

How so? the rules are set up so that we have not only people referring new members but also them making more posts than normal, and, their referrers making good posts.

i appreciate its complicated but, ensures the best results. feel free to hold a competition of your own if you feel this one is inadequate.

To start, the grammar is atrocious and I can't even tell what half the rules mean. Maybe get someone to help you with that. Disqualifying someone for 1 bad referral is a bad condition. Is the 1 month of premium being paid by you for each referral?

No need to get defensive. I won't start my own because I know how these play out.

the rule of " if the only post your referral makes is on this thread they wont count " is because, we don't need people to join and just make one post, we want people to make a few, get a feel for the community and settle in.

i'm not getting defensive, i just thought that all of this was quite self explanatory as to why these rules are in place, yes it is a competition, but at the same time, we may as well utilize this opportunity and get some decent new members out of it.

& yes, for the winner, i will purchase premium for each referral of the winner for 1 month - again, pretty self explanatory.

Maybe he should put a limit. Perhaps even make it so the people who are referred have a motive to be active and stay active. He could pick the top 10 most active new/referred people to give premium to.

if someone could manage to introduce 50 different people to the forums, get them to stay active and stay active themselves, which to me sounds doubtful.

but, i guess, just so long as they stay active or i'd atleast give them all 5m although, that would make it a:
5x50M+100m giveaway (475m giveaway) which is only like under $200
