You seem to have an issue with this. You called ADW by his real name even though he nicely asked you not to, and yet you arrogantly replied to him. He has all the right to tell you not to use his first name, he's not threatening you, he didn't just automatically tell you that, he asked you nicely first. If he wants to keep his real name private, you don't have the right to say it. He has all the right now to warn you and edit your post, but he didn't. Furthermore, when a user asked for my name and I didn't give it to him, you felt it was in your position to give them my name and how to pronounce it, who are you to do so?

Look guys, when I do a trade I record it. Almost every time I'll switch over to something, maybe facebook, during the trade. I don't want people to see my info like that, so I would prefer it be kept private. If both parties agree to post video they post, otherwise they might have personal info they don't want to share, so they send it to management. It's simple and should be kept as it is. Only thing I disagree with is that management only handle scam reports. When Runegear gets bigger there will probably be more scams, therefore Admins should also be allowed to decide. But, that can be handled later once it gets busier .

Oh, and if someone asks for something to not be said like their first name, I think it's common courtesy to not say it.

Were just not on a first name bases if we were then fine but were not so no.

I'm on a first name bases with most staff and some rg members but I chosse to usw whatever name they have on rg.

I love it when TE smacks on kids.

I don't see why calling someone other then their username is considered such a big deal that it carries over 3 pages of a thread, that isn't even about names.

If someone wanted to be called by there real name, then they would put it as their username.

It's personal information, and they have every right to privacy it's in the ToS after all.

I think everyone needs to take a chill pill. I agree to using ones forum nickname, but stick with it. I think it's really stupid to allow some members to use it and others not. When people see others using it, they will think its fine too as well. Keep the real names to Skype/MSN and I doubt you would have this problem.

As to video evidence, it's a scam report. What is there to keep secret? Your bank pin? We don't even know your password so how does knowing your bank ping help. Majority of people make it their date of birth anyway. More hands make light work. We MIGHT see something that staff don't. We might see an edit that you think is a simple encoding glitch. Etc. But I'm not a fan of Zip'ing or Rar'ing the files, too many skids out there willing to pack virus' in with it. Split it into multiple parts. You can upload a max of 15mins on a standard youtube account I believe. So 2-3 videos to upload is too much to show your innocence or prove someone guilty, then IMO backing up the person is not worth it.

Some members can easily be dox'd(myself) and a Bank Pin is a essential part when recovering accounts.
Majority of people do make it there DoB. But, people that are intelligent know that is stupid & obvious is obvious.

I agree with you on the nicknames a bit. It is stupid to let some users on the forums and not others. It's not really a privacy thing if it's already out but if the user allows some and doesn't allow others. A "mature" member will respect it and just not call him by his real name. I mean I will call him, Angelo. He will Likez It, too.

This may not have started as a thread about nicknames, but the first post has been resolved by TE. Now it's a debate regarding nicknames, names and other crap.
