In my experience rep has always been the thing that fucks up forums. Take HF, everyone there is a rep whore. Now yes, it forces people to be a little bit more nice, but it also makes people so butthurt about any negs they get. It's not like I'm worried about not getting any rep, I just genuinely think it's going to get in between forum-goers at some point in time.

I think some sort of reputation is needed, if you haven't noticed this forum has a lot of sales everyday. If they're is a scammer the best thing you could do is to -rep then report the post.

I disagree, if someone scams have them banned. Problem solved?

Here there are only about 1 admin and 1 mod.

They cannot be on 24/7 and therefore if there is a scammer or an injector then there is no way of stopping them. -rep gives people a warning so they can investigate and look at comments etc. before downlloading or buying whatever.

^I agree with you.

And I think without rep the dump section will be pretty much dead. And it's like getting something back for doing something nice, which is good. So I wouldn't remove it.

Currently Rep is an incentive to make users:
- nicer
- contribute more
- be HQ
- and not to mention an indication of scammers.

But your right, it is the downfall of large forums, so when RR gets bigger I do plan on considering the removal of rep in all.
