I think that the reporter award should be removed. All it does is cause ruckus for the staff because people who are trying to get it report stuff that is not material to be reported. Anybody agree?

I'm pretty sure people don't just report random posts for no reason, this should not be removed.

This is the worst suggestion I've ever heard.

No from me.

The only reason why people actually pay attention to rules is because you can achieve this award.

No from me as well.

Clan leaders think it's a "requirement" to have a certain number. So people report every post they see.

No, they don't. Barely anyone reports post, and everyone who does knows the rules.

I feel like the award should actually be bumped up to about 1,000 reported posts. I agree with this thread to an extent where about 15% of the reported posts are completely false and shouldn't be reported.... other than that this thread is NO.

I only report posts that need to be reported. If staff find that you are abusing the report system, they ban you.

This is not true what so ever; you get a private message at the MOST lol....

Wow. I understand opinions, but you don't know the facts at all. Look at the "exclusive" clans and it'll say 250+ reported posts. You need to do some research before you start talking.

There is already an award for 500, I believe.

Groups ask for a set amount of reported posts because it is a way of showing them that you're dedicated, and trying to make the forum a better place.

What facts don't I know?

Actually, you sir, need to do the research. The only requirement for any group is to be a spammer.

No from me. People who genuienly report posts have the award. I was one of the very first users to have the award and after reporting over 800+ posts I don't think any of them were invalid or not worthy of being reported. Why remove it? Because it's rare to get? Or because you can't get it? Imho, this award is a way of showing how helpful you're towards the staff & shows a positive attitude from users, although I find it quite ironic that a few users with past record of warning level have it.

Are you making this suggestion to get the suggester award? lol I think its fine bro. It doesnt need to be removed. If people randomly report people just to get a damn award then they can be banned for filing false reports.

Well people only get the award if the reports were all legit I'm pretty sure.

If people aren't reporting valid posts then they should get a warning for report abuse.

I disagree.
