Rep Suggestion

I am sick and tired of seeing so many users with tons of rep. Giving and getting rep on FK is so easy and it's a problem. I was on the FK long before the DB reset and I had managed to get 1,000+ rep. Not a big deal, but I got it from giving rep to get rep. Also known as Rep4Rep.

Now, after the reset, I didn't give a shit about my amount of rep. I just happen to get rep from other users. I do so happen to give users rep back after they rep me just because I feel bad for them. I can't remember the last time I gave a user rep thinking they would rep me back. I know that I am a trusted user but my rep has nothing to do with how "trusted" I am. The big deal here is that rep is handed out so freely that no matter how trusted a user is, they can get enough rep to appear trusted.

This thread is more of a rant than anything else but I would also like to make a suggestion.

@Philly or @"Narc", I think that you guys should discuss limiting the amount times any user may give rep per day. There is an option under usergroups in the Admin Panel that you can use to limit a groups rep limit per day.

So, all in all, I hope this can be a solution to this problem and to my sanity.

Edit: Sorry in advance if my wording isn't correct or if my sentences don't make much grammatical sense. I am really out of it today.

Or just lower the amount you can give overall could help also like instead of +5 and +10 maybe +2 and +4

set it to where an admin/mod must approve any rep given, so it's not just bs like *heres some rep, wink wink* or something else lq.

I agree with your rant.

That has been suggested many times before. That is why I have come up with a different suggestion.

I think the rep system should be changed in some way. It's too easy for users to get a mass amount of rep.
I have always tried to only rep after deals, and when I feel that someone is a trusted member. But a lot of the time I see users repping me for the sole reason of trying to get me to rep back.

A lot of users on here shouldn't have the amount of rep they have.

That would be living hell. So, I disagree.

I agree with every word you said. Something needs to be done about this.

You can't use my line. Your argument is invalid.

I started the argument, to which you replied therefore validating my agrument by proving it was worth delving into; therefore your argument about my argument being invalid, is invalid in its self.

your move.

Your argument is invalid because you did not argument. Your so called "argument" was a reply to my post, saying that my argument was invalid.

So, to you I say, your argument is invalid. Good day sir.

*did not argument* ~ I'm going to assume you meant *did not agrue*.

to which I'll reply 'Grammar please.'

i think we should get rid of the rep system and bring back the vouch system.

Wow, best suggestion so far. I didn't even think about that.

This right here would be the solution to the problem.

Limiting to 5 reps per day per member is entirely reasonable and is what nearly all other forums do. Also, removing reputation reporting besides scammer rep is entirely fair as well.

That would be an overload for the staff.. Shit imagine there are at least 500 reps being given a day for each a different reason. Then the staff has to investigate each rep distribution to see if it was legit or not. That's too much [emoji15]

I wasn't here when this 'vouch system' was in place, but it sounds like a much better system.
