Reproductive Health Bill, agree or disagree?

This has been an issue recently in the Philippines. Congress passed a bill to legalize contraceptives. But it is against church teaching and majority of the population in the country are Roman Catholics. Do you think this is a better way of reducing the population growth of the country?

I agree with the RH bill. That's my personal view even if the Catholic Church is opposed on that. I believe that this is still a personal choice.

I Totally Agree with this. Over-Population + Poverty = Crime

Well dude, we are one of the several countries that hasn't approve this one because of those Priests and Bishops. They say that Contraceptives could lead to abortion. I didn't believe on that. As the Equation said above my post. Did the catholic priests realize that?

Yes i agree with this bill. I mean this one way of prevention.we are not going to kill life,we are just preventing them not have an unwanted pregnancy. Killing is far diffERent from prevention.

I agree with the RH and its not killing somebody's life because its only prevention. I don't know why other people think that it is killing one's life if no life is being formed yet doing contraceptives. What is more sinful if we will have many children and can't able to give them a better life. God give us knowledge and wisdom to use them in our lives. There are people who are only pretending and acting against the RH Bill law, but in truth they don't really care. They are just protecting their image and people would identify them as humane and different from others.

Too many people is bad. Use condoms to stop unwanted pregnancies and also from STD's. Contraceptives are a good thing.

Though it is true that the State should recognize and guarantee the exercise of the universal basic human right to reproductive health and gender equality and equity and womens' empowerment, many of its provisions are unconstitutional as it would allow universal access to reproductive health care services, methods, devices and supplies, namely hormonal contraceptives, intrauterine devices and injectables, that not only have they NOT been proven to be medically safe (they have lots of side effects, especially cardiovascular), but they are at the same time ILLEGAL, as they have been proven to prevent the implantation of a newly conceived baby as one of their mechanisms of action. Very pertinent to the debate about reproduction rights is the right to life. The Philippines Constitution says that the State "shall equally protect the life of the mother and the life of the unborn from conception."

I agree with the Reproductive Heath Bill because it can greatly help in controlling the population of the Philippines. The country is plagued with poverty and although it can be attributed to corrupt officials, still it is worth a shot if we could only give the Bill a chance. A lot of Filipinos may not be well educated when it comes to family planning especially those in rural areas, and so these families still think that the more children they have, they will also have a lot of help in their family. But then what if the parents cannot provide anymore for their children because of poverty. That's where a lot of problems come in this cycle repeats over and over again. The RH Bill is a choice. If you know what's good for you, then it is worth a try.
