Reputation

Rep to change. It sorta bothers me that i see so many ppl with 1k rep. I question why they have it , and how they got it. On the other forum only a select few out of thousands that are active have it.

As it pains me to say this, because me along with a select few have seen this happen more then once

I think we should reset the reputation system, and have the amount of reps given cut down A LOT.

Power+3/-3
Power+5/-5

I see members with high amounts of rep that contribute literally nothing, or don't even do deals.

Also limit the amount of reps that can be given in a day. Im pretty sure (Speaking for power+ members) that you can give basically unlimited amounts of reps.

The rep on FK has honestly gotten out of control, it literally means nothing because people hand it out for NOTHING. Im sure older members such as myself recall a time (Before philly got hacked MULTIPLE times) Where rep actually meant a legitimacy. (Not meaning you could just give full control of a deal to a guy with high rep, but you knew you were dealing with someone who knew what they were doing.)

I think that reputation should be reset or Fixed.

I really think it doesn't matter seeing as rep is just a number. People just need to stop caring and rep4reping and such.

But ye this isn't a bad suggestion i suppose.

Doesn't matter. People will still have a lot of rep such as 300 and what not. 300 will be hard to get making it rare. No reason for this.

I have said this for mad long. The site looks like shit when a member just joins and has fucking 500 rep just because members can give up to 15 rep. When I got unbanned, within 2 hours I had 300 rep.

I agree with this 100%, not really sure why it isn't lower, it's fucking stupid. I got 400 rep in like 5 days -__-

I don't think rep needs to be changed, but I don't really care too much about it.
I would just prefer if rep was given for legitimate reasons compared to being "liked" or not.

I've dealt with multiple new members who've had negative rep and have been completely legitimate.
(Because rep doesn't mean shit)

I would love to see lower rep. My 1500 seems like a little too much to me.

Honestly rep doenst mean shit really i think.

1. Who gives a shit?
2. It's like inflation with currency, 1k here is worth less than 1k there. Why would the number matter? They're in no way related.
3. If rep were reset yet again, I'd fully give up on handing it out to anyone.
4. This is a very poorly thought out idea.

The rarity of reputation points is lower here. You are comparing the value of our reputation points to that of other sites where the value of reputation points is higher. If you stop comparing our reputation system to others, this rarity problem will cease. This reputation points rarity pandemic is really non-existent.

However, I can agree with your second manifestation. It's unrealistic for there to be an actual need to rep more than about three members a day. I would like to see the amount of times you're allowed to rep someone in a day decreased.

I agree with Cann!bal. A limitation on the amount of times you're allowed to rep someone in a day would probably be more fitting.

As for the OP, I don't think my rep is boosted in anyway. I do feel I have deserved what I've gotten considering I haven't gotten that much. It's not like I get more rep everyday.
