Request an Award Thread?

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like the awards are still being neglected. There are some people who I think deserve an award but aren't given it. I know it's that staff's decision based on who gets an award, but perhaps it'd be better if the users were to ask for their awards and the administration can decide whether or not they deserve it.

I've seen this thread on many different forums and it usually helps decrease the neglect the awards get.

It's just my two cents, but it'd be nice if there were a thread that is constantly checked for users who deserve awards.

We constantly give out awards to members, you may just not notice.

But Uzi doesn't want to give out useless awards like gamer or soda award which almost everyone can get.

I'm not saying that Uzi picks out favorites on who to give awards to but we are looking for extravagant conclusions on why to give them an award, but trust me i get messages all the time asking for someone wanting an award.

Well with this thread you'll stop getting PM's .. or well at least a (slight?)decrease on the quantity of the PM's.

People can post in the thread asking for the awards and you can have rules for the thread like don't PM staff for an award, why you didn't get an award, etc.

There was a forum/Section for this a while back. But i belive it is not needed, Uzi picks who gets the award(s) and there should not be asked for just purely earned.

In a way it's not all that much of asking for the award. You're just letting staff know you want to get that award, but they don't have to give it to you. If you've been denied the award, chances are you're doing something wrong, so I see it as boosting the confidence in people in trying to earn the award as I've seen this forum turn into one of those forms where people try to get as much awards as they can(no offense to everyone.)

I honestly think that this would be a good idea. We should try it out for some time, and if it doesn't go well, then we can stop it.

I've got to disagree. It's a matter of pride to be awarded when staff feels it as the need for you.

I don't think you guys understand. You aren't asking for it and get rewarded just because you asked. You're letting staff know you want the award, that's it. You don't have to get it. It's not like, "I want this award, kthxbai."
It's more like, "Hey, am I eligible to receive this award? I have contributed this, and this, and this, and that."

Yeah, it would be more like an application. Your applying to receive an award.

I mean you have to show it to get it.. Don't request it and you have nothing to show that your worked hard on getting the award..
I think it is more better if the award is given out since it makes more difficult and rare..

I don't really know if you understand ... Just because you ask for it doesn't mean you'll get it and staff still have the decision to turn down your request.

What are you guys even arguing about? It just seem's that your pulling different things out of your head just so this idea can't succeed. Or it just may be that you don't understand. It's as easy as this guys. There will be a thread where you can apply for an award if the user feels he deserve's it. Therefore, still earning it. Now if there is a user that apply's for an award that he and the staff know he does not deserve, he/she will just be denied. There still earning there rewards. It' just a way to help the staff team by making it easier for them. like cutting down on the PM's asking for rewards, and people not getting there awards because a staff member is busy doing something else and forgets. This is just a way to help people get the rewards they deserve, and to help people from getting neglected from there rewards.

For now, any awarding(s) will continue to be handed out the old fashioned way (via Uzi, manually).

Although I will offer one alternative... if you feel you deserve an awarding, but have not received it; feel free to private message me regarding which awarding you feel you deserve, and a justified reason as to why you feel you deserve it.
